On the clock

I may well have seen and bought next years Monmore Puppy Derby winner this morning in Ireland. This May 2012 pup clocked a remarkable 28.52 at Dundalk. More details to follow.

Major Talent Spotted

As promised I have arrived in the Emerald isle to watch young pups with major open class potential trial.

Last night I watched several of them being put through their paces at one of Irelands toughest tracks Clonmel. It was a wet windy night and the track was definitely on the slow side.

One young potential top class act that caught my eye is only barely 14 months old baby. An August 2012 whelp showed some serious all round pace for one so young. Having only qualified last week in a super fast 29.16 at Limerick(her identity card was only issued last week the day of the trial!(qualifying time is 30.40) in her very 1st 525 yards, it was obvious that she had huge potential.

I asked the current owner to trial her at Clonmel last night and she did not dissapoint.

A big white and blue bitch she rocketed from traps to win by over 8 lengths in a tremendous winning time of 29.15.

What also attracted me to this young pup is that her dam line breeding is the very same as our own 'Pots and Pans' who in my belief was going to be one of the best bitches in the UK until she got injured.

This was only this pups 2nd ever 525 yards and make no mistake all she can do is improve greatly.

If this pup was with one of the major breeding establishments in Ireland she would be costing well into the five figures such is the potential she has already shown.

However  I have struck a deal with the current owner and she will cost no where near the five figures bracket. He had several enquiries after she qualified last week from leading owners and trainers here in Ireland and the UK as pups of her age and potential are  a rare commodity at the minute.

With natural improvement and more schooling it is our belief that she will go on to win countless of major opens. Ideal for next years Midland Puppy Derby. Remember she can run in puppy class until Next August 2014.

The name of this bitch is Ellas Undecided.

Please phone me direct to discuss this pup further . First come first served.

All three heading to Henlow Derby Final

Cluxtons Free / Strategic Review

Smart Bid

Superb work from all the team at Henlow last night, where all three of our runners qualified for next weeks Derby Final.

Smart Bid was as usual very brave when taking second place in the first Semi Final. After being outpaced to the corner, Smart Bid took advantage of a gap on the running rail to force his way through to move into a clear second behind Thinking Big. Whilst he couldn't close the gap on the early leader he still fight off the closing pack behind including Farloe Warhawk. The clock stopping at 27.76

With both Cluxtons Free and Strategic Review still very much on the come back trail we couldn't be confident in whether the dogs would run as well again. Cluxtons Free had a very easy week on the build up but impressed in a gallop on Friday morning.

As the traps rose Cluxtons Free missed the early kick and was out trapped by Benkaat Blue. However approaching the winning post for the first time Cluxtons showed an out of this world turn of pace to burst from last to first and actually go round the first bend in front. As Cluxtons Free took hold of the race, Strategic Review out battled the rest of the field to get clear in second place and then to chase Cluxtons. Review rallied all the way to the line and got with 1/2 length of Cluxtons in 27.73

Inaghs Dalcash - Stayers Maiden Video

Thought you bloggers would like to see Inaghs Dalcash's win at Hove. Enjoy !

St Leger Round 1 Update

We knew before entering the dogs in the William Hill St Leger it was always going to be difficult however if you are not in you can't win it. We have always been a kennel where we will take dogs where owners want as well.

In Heat 1 Goa Girl's chances ended on first bend when she was badly baulked. Incitatus couldn't get into the race over this distance.

Creamery Empire snatched a valuable 3rd place in Heat 3 to make the draws for the Quarter Finals, running on very strongly.

Polar Prospect suffered first bend crowding in Heat 4 but still finished 4th whilst A few Dollarsmore suffered a similar fate and failed to qualify.

Finally Boherna Bridge will join Creamery Empire in the draw after sealing third place in Heat 6. Bridge was very brave after overcoming traffic problems on second bend.

Track Craft

Dixies Craft proved to be our only winner at Monmore over the weekend.

Dixies took the S2 showing a nice turn of early pace to beat kennel mate Ferndale Dollar by 1/2 length in 38.81

This was Dixies Craft's 10th career win. A super bitch to train with hopefully plenty more wins to come.

Puppy Derby Scouting

I'm away in Ireland from today all week looking at pups for the Monmore Puppy Derby next year. To see these dogs trial with my own eyes is the best way to yell if they have the potential thats needed. If you are after a puppy of this class or an unraced dog please  call.

Owners can call my assistant Paul on 07974 354519 if they need anything.

Rollercoaster Thursday

Well last night proved to be a perfect summary of our great sport. Winners one minute and then a complete unexplained occurrence the next.

Monmore went very much to plan with the team landing four winners. Five Alley Queen made the most of the step out of Open race company to take the A1 by 1 1/4 lengths in 28.81. Larky Ego picked us up a value win in the Trainers Championship when taking the Ladbrokes.com 630 open race in 38.70 by three lengths. Phoenix Bolt backed up last weeks run with a superb win in the 264 sprint open, getting back up on the line to win in 15.66. Finally at Monmore, Start Itup Sweep took the kennel bragging rights when beating Gaelic Hawk by neck in 28.75

Down at Hove I would have to say it didn't go to plan. In the Coral Olympic all three of our runners were drawn sadly together in an appalling draw. The race proved to be a complete disaster from the start when Exocet seemed to be put off my the delayed start by missing the traps completely and then Express Giant and Master were both caught up in traffic problems around the first two bends. Master battled on well to clinch 3rd place in next weeks Semi Finals.

The evening did end up on a good note when Inaghs Dalcash took the maiden stayers event over 692 metres. Dalcash suffered crowding problems on first and second bend but stayed on superbly well on her open race debut to take the race by 3/4 length in 42.33

Poor draws at Olymypic

This afternoons draw for the Coral Olympic proved to very frustrating with three runners all drawn in the same heat.

Last weeks Kent Derby winner, Exocet, has the far from ideal trap 6, whilst poor Express Master (pictured) has drawn trap 4. Master seems to get one bad draw after another, very hard on the young dog. Express Giant has the 1 box but ideally would have wanted an easier heat.

On the supporting card Cape Impact goes in the Sprint whilst the interesting Inaghs Dalcash will try her hand in the Maiden Stayers.

Back at Monmore Mikes Budgie clashes with Larky Ego in an open over 630 metres, Phoenix Bolt will be hoping for a clear passage in the sprint whilst Roscahill Champ goes against Rathmeehan Lee in a 480 maiden.

Despite us lacking a real top class stayer we have entered 6 in the William Hill St Leger at Wimbledon on Saturday. Incitatus, Goa Girl, Creamery Empire, Polar Prospect, Boherna Bridge, Afew Dollarsmore. Good Luck to all connections.

Henlow Derby Semi Final Draw

Steve Nash kindly forwarded this fantastic photo of Cluxtons Free showing how dertermined the dog was the make the early pace.

The Semi Final draw is as follows :-

Smart Bid win clash with 2012 beaten Henlow Derby favourite, Farloe Warhawk in the first Semi, there is some serious early pace in the race.

Strategic Review with clash with Cluxtons Free in the third Semi. Who do you fancy ?

Back with a Bang

We headed to Henlow last night in more hope than expectation however all the dogs ran superbly well.

Cluxtons Free, the 2013 Monmore Puppy Derby winner, stormed to a scinterlating 28.43 success by a length after recording a mind blowing 3.60 sectional, a time than ranks with very best. This lad has suffered a steady flow of injuries since his Monmore success and we are all hoping he come out the race well and continue the rest of his career in this type of form.

Joining Cluxtons Free in the Semi Finals will be Strategic Review and Smart Bid. With these two both also returning from breaks off the track we would have snapped your hands off for such two good performances. Review led to the last bend bend when tiring but showed us great early toe to finish second in 28.63. Smart Bid has always been a very brave dog and he showed that with a very gutsy run in Heat 5, just getting caught on the line in 28.67.

On the supporting card Phoenix Bolt was a very unlucky in the sprint when forced vey wide off the last bend. Very pleasing run all the same. Whilst Creamery Empire stayed on very well to finish 3rd in the 550 maiden.

Henlow Bound

We are off to Henlow in Befordshire this evening for the start of the RPGTV Henlow Derby. Henlow is a great track with a very warm welcome. I'd urge any one you to have an evening there. Tonight's card has some real quality of which you can watch on Racing Post TV.

Phoenix Bolt goes in the Sprint which starts proceedings followed by Creamery Empire goes in the 550 maiden. In the Derby itself we are represented by Strategic Review in Heat 2, Cluxtons Free in Heat 4 and Smart Bid in Heat 5. Finally Polar Prospect takes his chance in the closing race of the night, a stayers races over 692 metres.

Saving the best to last

We had to wait to final two races to notch our winners of the evening last night at Monmore.

Dacent Kacy recorded her third career win when leading all the way in the A3 to take a tricky looking race in 28.79 by 2 1/2 lengths. Kacy has now won 2 of her last 3 races so fingers crossed there is more improvement to come and she can continue to move through the grades.

Proud Pegs Tyler recorded his first Monmore when when showing some great pace and spirit to take the evenings A2 in 28.60 by 3 3/4 lengths. This son of College Causeway is a pup of genuine potential and very much one to follow in the coming weeks.

Budgie loses Maiden tag

Mikes Budgie recorded her first career win on Friday afternoons BAGS meeting when impressing in the S3 contest. Budgie had to share the early lead however burst clear of the field coming out of the third bend to go on to win by 3 3/4 lengths in 38.54

Exocet lands Kent Derby Master Plan

Roly Woodcock was smiling big style on Thursday evening when his Exocet produced the goods in the John Smith Kent Derby Final landing the £8,000 first prize. Roly took the same prize with Ballycowen Dave.

Boxed in trap 4, Exocet came on level terms with Racy Thunder, but then cut across to force his way to the front of the field. From there Exocet turned on the gas to lead the field a merry dance showing some unbelivable pace. There was no stopping him in the home straight as he went on to win by 2 1/2 lengths in 28.52

It well worth remembering Exocet was yet another dog sold off our blog and website. Fair play to Roly who was first on the phone to secure the deal.

All being well Exocet will head to Hove for a crack at the Olympic which starts next week.

Many thanks to Steve Nash for sending the photos quickly to our web team. Also many thanks for all your texts and tweets !

Queen and Impact set the Sky Standard

Three winners on a Sky meeting including the major race is always a highlight of any year but to produce the goods when under pressure in the Trainers Championship is a credit to how hard all the team are working.

Five Alley Queen got us up and running when she stayed on very sweetly to get up in the shadow of line to take the Bitches Open in a short head in 29.46

Cape Impact took the Sprint Open when clearly taking advantage of of the trap 1 position drawn. As the field scrimmaged down the centre of the track Cape Impact was very brave to force his way to front and go on to win by 1/2 length in 16.30.

Three bitches ready for sale

Enjoy watching the action on Sky last night ? Why not join our expanding team and our battle for the Trainers Championship. I have three lovely bitches for sale. Remember all the dogs I bring to kennel appear on blog and sale page. Its first come first served. Fair play to Roly Woodcock who got in first with Exocet.

Fit for Futt (Cashen Legend x Flandy) Fawn Bitch May 2012
Even during last nights fantastic nights racing I was on the phone trying to snap up the best talent around for the kennel. I’m only looking for the best young talent in Ireland so I was extra pleased to seal a deal to bring Fit for Futt to join us.

This young fawn May 2012 Puppy set the tongues wagging on the west coast of Ireland destroying her field on her debut at Limerick. Connections clearly knew her ability as she went off a very short favourite and duly delivered the verdict expected. From a dam that has thrown top class dogs this bitch could well be anything.
£3,500
Flandy Megry (Cashen Legend x Flandy) Fawn Bitch May 2012
A full litter sister for Fit for Futt. This girl has won both her starts round Limerick. She showed some awesome spirit in her second win when digging deep on the home run when challenged after taking the lead early on. Very well priced.
£2,000
Borna Helena (Head Bound x Borna Talent) - Black Bitch - February 2012

This very well bred February 2012 bitch is superbly bred and has some very nice Irish form including winning 3 of her 6 starts at Thurles. On the back of her last win she did reach a Final but was badly impeded twice on the first and second bend.

She looks perfect for the UK and I'd expect her to win many open races over 4 and 6 bends.

Roly and Exocet land the odds

Wow, what a run from Exocet in the John Smiths St Leger. Full reaction on the blog on in the coming days.

Exocet ready for Sky date

Exocet is all set for his Kent Derby Final tonight at Sittingbourne in front of the Sky cameras.(Sky Sports 3)

The traps will rise at 9.19pm and we are all hoping he can ping away from traps and lead the field. Exocet must however lead to win this race, he is not a type to run on strong if he misses the early kick.

On the supporting card Cape Impact goes in the Sprint at 7.49pm whilst Five Alley Queen goes in the Bitches at 7.01pm.

Tomorrow evening we travel to the local Perry Barr where Sids Ninja and Larky Ego take their chance in open races.

Blogs worth a read

I would recommend any greyhound fan to have a good read of the Racing Post website as there a number of very interesting blogs to read.

Tom Francis has good a one this week from an owners perspective. Take a look, a know a few of you enjoy your daily fix of greyhound racing.

Week starts with a Monmore double

It's always great to start the week among the winners and we returned to the kennels this evening with a double.

Start Itup Sweep made the most of his drop to A3 and nice solo round the outside to win by 1 length in 28.80. Lynns Blackie was also on the score sheet as he put in a solid performance to take a very competitive A2 by 3 3/4 lengths in 28.87

Brave Bridge runner up in Kent St Leger Final

Boherna Bridge always looked up against it in the John Smiths St Leger Final over 714 metres at Sittingbourne but ran a brilliant race to finish second to Aayamzalad.

Bridge broke well from trap 2 but had to concede the early lead. Despite this, he battled hard giving absolute no ground on the running rail and was very brave throughout. He finished second in 45.88 ,just rewards.

Congratulations to the Mullins team who took the £2,500 first prize.

Toms stars in the Crayford Wiggle

Our very Tom Faulkner starred on Racing Post Greyhound TV last night when performing his own version of the Crayford Wiggle. Tom clearly took to his new role and a future career in musicals could well happen if the dogs don't work out.

Fair play Tom however I think Jules might just have little more style.

Live from Chalks

Here is a photo of the boys sat in Chalks Bar tonight (Saturday), Clonmel ready for another messy night !

Deal Done to sign Helena

I snapped up a seriously nice recruit for the kennel yesterday.

£5,000 - She will sell quickly so please call to avoid disappointment.

Coursing, Guinness and talent spotting

I'm away in Ireland at the moment to enjoy a few pint with our Irish friends and take it some coursing action. With the wind blowing and expected rain it should be perfect weather for coursing. The boys back home will be taking great care of the dogs as always. See you all next week.

Wheels of Fortune

Dacent Kacy recorded her second career win on Thursday night when taking the advantage of a drop to A4. Kacy made the most of her wide starting position to lead up early and then stay on strong when the challengers looked poised to win by 2 3/4 lengths in 28.91

Moving on to Fridays meeting at our home track Start Itup Sooty put in a perfect performance in his 50th race to take the afternoons A4 by a huge 5 1/4 lengths in 28.60. This was Sooty's 6th career win to date and is a very consistent dog to train.

It's Lift Off for Exocet

Exocet lived up to his name once again when taking off in the John Smiths Kent Derby Semi Final.

Exocet pinged from his Trap 4 berth and showed some superb early pace to go clear of field very quickly. Exocet has never headed in the race to win by a huge 6 1/2 lengths. The winning time of 28.79  was the fastest of the night.

Exocet has drawn trap 4 again in next weeks Sky televised Final. Lets all hope for a repeat performance.

Many thanks Steve Nash for sending the photo so quickly.

A new young stars emerges for sale

Through our vast range of contacts in the emerald Isle - we are constantly offered dogs -
some are not good enough while others are way over priced - One we feel which fits the bill for next years puppy competitions is a young *May* 12 whelp - who has become one of the fastest & youngest winners in Ireland this year.

This pup is - by - 'Cashen Legend' - who has already produced such class bitches as 'Skate on' - one of the best bitches in England - English oaks runner up - our very own - 'Five alley queen' (winner of several opens already) 29.90 at Notts - finalist in  the Caffreys puppy classic. He has also produced classic winners in Irleand - The 2013 Irish st leger winner (Cashen Mafuma)

This young baby has 4 entries on her card & 4 wins. Only 2 weeks ago she made a brilliant racing debut - Rocketing from traps, she was simply way too good as she won by 10 lengths in a top class time of 29.29.

However, in her latest run - she really demonstrated brilliant all round pace for a puppy of her age. Once again she showed top class early and left her field trailing in her wake - flying throughout she stopped the clock in a quite brilliant time of 28.82 - winning by 9 lengths.

****1st in 29.29 525 yards Limerick**** (racing debut)

****1st in 28.82 525 yards Limerick**** (won by 9 lengths)
(Major open class run for a puppy)

This pup will be arriving here at westview kennels next week and we are glad to have acquired her - as puppys of her age and winning times are simply very scarce at the moment - when they do come up they are usually snapped up straight away -

This pups dam - 'Flandy' has already produced major open class dogs in previous litters. including the likes of 'Premier glory' - 28.45 Shelbourne & 'Flandys ryan' - 28.46 Shelbourne Park (18.66 for the 350 yards) rated 126 on G.data.

Their can be no doubt that this young babys best days are ahead of her - she will improve greatly over the coming months - She will be aimed at all the major puppy open competitions over the next year - remember she is young enough to run in the 2014 Midland puppy derby.

Telephone me direct to discuss this exciting young puppy further - she is extremely reasonably priced for a puppy of her age -  breeding and winning times.

Sittingbourne holds the key

We need a big night on Thursday at Sittingbourne in the Semi Finals of the Kent Derby. With us now down to 4th place in the Trainers Championship standings after a couple of quiet weeks.

Realistically we need to win the competition to stay in the mix and gain vital ground.

Good Luck to all connections !

Woodcocks Prospect

After a short lean spell where the dogs have been running well but not winning, it was great to see Roly Woodcock's Polar Prospect (pictured) win his first race at Newcastle tonight.

The son of Ace Hi Rumble x Flying Winner got up the shadow of the line to take the Maiden Open race by a short head in 38.97. (Sorry link the The Dogs site isn't working).

The winner will hopefully ease the long drive home for Paul and Ian.

One in One out

Mixed fortunes at Romford last night in their Coral on TV Maiden Stayers competition.

Five Alley Queen will take her chance in next weeks Final after finished second in Heat 2 in 36.13. Creamery Empire's chances ended in Heat 1 on the first corner when badly baulked.

Young slips clear in Trainers Championship

Paul Young has slipped further clear of us in the Trainers Championship with Mark Wallis also rallying to join us in second place. Paul has passed the 150 winners for the year and is now 8/15 Favourite with the sponsors as he looks set for another big haul this week.

We will continue to battle hard and looking for every opportunity that is right for each dog.

Dalcash gives connections dream debut

Inaghs Dalcash repaid some her connections faith when purchased from the Hall Green Sales when storming home at Monmore. Dalcash was not up with the early pace but unleashed a huge run around the last two bends to stay on to take the A4 by a length in 28.83. Most definitely a bitch to follow in coming months.

Boherna Bridge makes Kent St Leger Final

Boherna Bridge will take his chance in next Saturdays Kent St Leger Final at Crayford after finished second in last nights Semi Final behind Freedom Cache.

Bridge broke well from the boxes boxes but needed to be brave when squeezed for room around the first two bends. Bridge had a real battle with Special Milli which stopped Bridge in the middle of race and allow Freedom Cache to pass on the outside. Bridge chased hard to the line but could only get within one length in 45.42. Next weeks Finals draw looks very interesting, a clean break from Bridge could make them all go. I'm very pleased for connections.

Goa Girl gave her all in the other Semi Final but was outstayed on the run to the line behind an impressive Pony Bride in 45.17.

Watch Saturday Semis on RPTV

Those owners not at Monmore tonight can watch the John Smith's St Leger Semi Finals on Racing Post Greyhound TV at home.

Boherna Bridge is rated is an 11/4 change in the first Semi Final at 8.02pm. It looks like a very close on paper with places in the Final very much wanted by all. Goa Girl will need to run the race of her life in the 8.34pm at qualify as its a very tough race.

Racing Post is on Sky channel 212 and Freesat 401.

Monmore lead the field

It's great to see Monmore leading the field in terms of new innovations. Owners can now download race videos from there website for just £1.00 each. A great was of seeing a race if you missed it.

Whilst looking at the site I glanced at the other trainers sites on how often they do updates. One was a link that doesn't work, two was 19th August, one appears to have lost their hosting, one January 13, whilst Pat Curtin does provide regular updates. As an industry we must do more to retain our owners. Our website and social media, whilst is hard work at times, is an essential tool to enhance communication with owners and also attract new ones.

No Ego just talent.....

The very promising Larky Ego recorded her 4th success last night when taking the Ladbrokes.com 630 at Monmore. Egoo exchanged the early pace with Coolalough Gem before forcing her way clear of the field and then stay on to win by 1 3/4 lengths in 38.19

Earlier on in the evening Start Itup Sooty added his first success since back in June. Sooty took advantage of a very rare drop in grade to take the A5 in 28.70 by 2 1/2 lengths.

Off target at Newcastle

We had two disappointing results at Newcastle last night in the Angel of the North heats.

Both Sidelight and Droopys Hope both suffered first bend traffic problems ended their chances of qualifying for next weeks Final. Both will bounce back quickly, if one just one of those nights sadly.

Good Luck to all those who qualified for the Final.

Exocet stars in Kent Derby

We set off to Sittingbourne yesterday on the hope of repeating our previous success with Ballycowen Dave in the Kent Derby.

Exocet stormed to a 1 3/4 length success in Heat 4 when pinging traps and then showed some amazing pace to win in 29.26. Joining Exocet in the Semi Finals will be Express Master who finished third in Heat 2 in 29.54 and Daddy Knows Best who was second to Regal Bailio in 29.60.

Thursday's Kent Derby Semi Final Draw

First: 1 Kilcar Lassie, 2 Daddy Knowsbest, 3 Racy Thunder (m), 4 Slick Santiago (m), 5 Frettenham Flyer (w), 6 Islas Scolari (w).

Second: 1 Express Giant, 2 Holbeins Champ, 3 Bridge Bandit, 4 Exocet (m), 5 Regal Bailio (m), 6 Dinner Hunter (w).

Third: 1 Aero Tobias, 2 Jolly Bullseye, 3 Hollyoak Oliver, 4 Droopys Odell, 5 Jazz Fusion (w), 6 Droopys Danneel (w).

Drumcove Lad retired to Stud

Superstar Drumcove Lad has been officially retired this week and will stand at Merefield Stud. The dog is in great form but connections Will Adamson, James Edwards and myself decided he has nothing more to prove. Drumove Lad who is bred by Scarty Lad x Drumcove Fancy, June 2009, will be remembered at one of the leading sprinters of his generation.

Drumcove Lad was named Champion Sprinter in 2011 and won everything a sprinter can in the UK. Winning the Scurry at Belle Vue and National Sprint at Nottingham in 2011.  He then came out of retirement to win the prestigious Festival Flyer at Sunderland.

He won 19 of his 40 races and for me his best race was when he destroyed a quality field at Parry Barr in the Trainers Championship. He sheer determination to get to the corner in front won him many races. Not forgetting his track record at Belle Vue in 14.96.

Drumcove Lad also featured with his big friend Steve Masters on BBC1's Question of Sport show taking greyhound racing to a new audience.

He is be missed by all the team at Westview espically Steve who has cared for him over many years.

Website Link - Ian Greaves Greyhounds

Over the next few months I'll post a few different links to greyhound sites well worth a look. Ian Greaves had produced some serious greyhounds over the years from his County Kildare base.

Some of the great dogs include Greenacre Lin, Blonde Jeanie, Blonde Reagan, Toms the Best and Top Savings.

Ian's site always has something to look at as he regularly updates his weekly journal and dogs for sale. You can find plenty of information about his achievements and all is stock.

New syndicate seal to Sooty deal

A syndicate including new owners Lee Field (1/3 share), Martin Powell, David Toon and John Haynes along with loyal owners Dean Martin, Paul Oliver and Baz Knight today snapped up Irish recruit Slippery Sooty. Good Luck Boys !

Loose Change proves King of the comeback

This evenings meeting at Coventry saw a debut win for Loose Change owned by James Edwards, Baz Knight, Brian Mallet and Will Adamson.

The D2 graded win at our local track in 16.05 is however only half the story as the lovely son of Scolari Me Daddy suffered a freak and almost life changing incident when travelling to Monmore three months ago. Our vets did a fantastic job with him and its great to see him win tonight for his patient connections.

Sooty ready to produce magic in UK

Following on from our acquisition of 'Exocet' who recorded the fastest sectional at Sittingbourne Sunday night.

We have just acquired another serious top open race dog from the Emerald Isle.

This is a dog who was just one race away from reaching the final of the 2013 £150,000 Irish Derby final at Shelbourne Park.

Slippery Sooty is an extremely well bred son of the legendary Top Honcho' x Kildallon Maid. He is a full litter brother to the great Fear Emoski who is one of the best stayers in the game today, winner of this years 2013 Regency at Hove.

This is a dog who has only ever competed at the highest open race level. In this years Irish Derby campaign he was 2nd to the great 'Holdem Spy'  and arguably unlucky not to beat him when he was challenging for the lead at the 3rd bend only to be baulked.

'Slippery Sooty' has also reached the Final of the highly prestigious Joe Dunne Memorial at Shelbourne Park - This final contained the likes of 'Slippery Ribert' winner of this years Irish Derby and the brilliantly fast but ill fated 'Oran Maestro'(sold for £35,000) 28.15 at Shelbourne.(2nd in the £80,000 Con Kirby memorial at Limerick. In the final 'sooty' bombed out and led this years Irish Derby winner to the 1/2 way. In the finish he was only beaten 2 lengths by 'Slippery Robert' in a brilliant winning time of 28.44.

'Slippery Sooty' has clocked a fantastic 29.70 for the 550 yards at Shelbourne beating the likes of 'Paradise , lva' (who was sold for £40,000) (28.02 at Tralee) - 'Sooty' beat the likes of 'Paradise Silva' 5 lengths .This is yet another example of the kind of class he has been racing against.

Make no mistake this is a dog who has raced against and beaten some of the best Top open racers in Ireland or the UK the sort money cannot simply buy.

We believe that this dog will compete in all the major category one events in the Racing calendar. We have also managed to secure this dog at what we believe is sensible money compared to the dogs he has raced and beat.

Interested parties should contact me direct to discuss this top open racer further. First come first served as always.
