Well last night proved to be a perfect summary of our great sport. Winners one minute and then a complete unexplained occurrence the next.
Monmore went very much to plan with the team landing four winners. Five Alley Queen made the most of the step out of Open race company to take the A1 by 1 1/4 lengths in 28.81. Larky Ego picked us up a value win in the Trainers Championship when taking the Ladbrokes.com 630 open race in 38.70 by three lengths. Phoenix Bolt backed up last weeks run with a superb win in the 264 sprint open, getting back up on the line to win in 15.66. Finally at Monmore, Start Itup Sweep took the kennel bragging rights when beating Gaelic Hawk by neck in 28.75.
Down at Hove I would have to say it didn't go to plan. In the Coral Olympic all three of our runners were drawn sadly together in an appalling draw. The race proved to be a complete disaster from the start when Exocet seemed to be put off my the delayed start by missing the traps completely and then Express Giant and Master were both caught up in traffic problems around the first two bends. Master battled on well to clinch 3rd place in next weeks Semi Finals.
The evening did end up on a good note when Inaghs Dalcash took the maiden stayers event over 692 metres. Dalcash suffered crowding problems on first and second bend but stayed on superbly well on her open race debut to take the race by 3/4 length in 42.33.
