Cluxtons Free, the 2013 Monmore Puppy Derby winner, stormed to a scinterlating 28.43 success by a length after recording a mind blowing 3.60 sectional, a time than ranks with very best. This lad has suffered a steady flow of injuries since his Monmore success and we are all hoping he come out the race well and continue the rest of his career in this type of form.
Joining Cluxtons Free in the Semi Finals will be Strategic Review and Smart Bid. With these two both also returning from breaks off the track we would have snapped your hands off for such two good performances. Review led to the last bend bend when tiring but showed us great early toe to finish second in 28.63. Smart Bid has always been a very brave dog and he showed that with a very gutsy run in Heat 5, just getting caught on the line in 28.67.
On the supporting card Phoenix Bolt was a very unlucky in the sprint when forced vey wide off the last bend. Very pleasing run all the same. Whilst Creamery Empire stayed on very well to finish 3rd in the 550 maiden.
