A quality double from our team at Monmore on Boxing Day. In front of a bid crowd as normal, Ballymac Warrior won the big race of the day, an A1, with a superb run. Breaking quickly from trap 6 Warrior was never headed to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 28.51

Earlier on the card Luminous Walk also made a speedy exit from the traps to stretch the field in the A3. Dog Vader and Conor Legend tried to make a race of it but could only get within a length in 28.90

I would also like to congratulate Corren Prince on winning the Bobby Allsopp Memorial Race with Tullymurry Santa.

Proud Pegs Tyler was our only survivor in the Puppy competition after finishing second in Heat 3 to Jaytee Seville. Tyler was on the wrong end of a short head defeat in 28.65 but will be hoping for a clear run in the Final.

In the main competition Strategic Review ran the best to finish 3rd but was eliminated along side Ballymac Warrior and Daddy Knowsbest.

Afew Dollarsmore battled on well in the Stayers Competition over 684 metres to finish second in 41.89 but will have it all to do again in a very hot looking Final.

Our only winner of the day came care of Cape Impact who is having a great second half of the year. Impact took Heat 3 from an unfavourable trap 4 to win in 24.56. Impact will be joined in the Final by kennel mate Kirk Superstar who finished second in 25.03. Don't rule either of these two out in Fridays Final.

It's on a Hatrick for Cracker

Ballymac Cracker made it three straight wins at Monmore this afternoon. Cracker had to concede the early pace but way always in a challenging position. Off the last bend she kicked hard to seal a fantastic hatrick of wins in 29.03 for a short head.

Change leads a five star night

Five winners on a Thursday night gave us all a big boost going into a busy few days.

Quest for winners

After last nights disappointment it was great to get back among the winners at Monmore this afternoon.

Baileys Quest has been an expensive dog to follow since his arrival in England so I hope connections took advantage of his huge odds of 10/1 when taking the A2 in 28.84 by 3/4 length. This lad deserves a change of luck so lets hope this was the start of it.

Local punters sent Ballymac Cracker off a warm 7/4 favourite to win the A6 and were rewarded when she recorded a smooth 1 1/2 win in 28.98

Start Itup Sooty added another win to his growing record when he took the A3 in 28.79. Sooty over came early race traffic problems to get up where it mattered most to win by a neck.

Rollercoaster Thursday

Well last night proved to be a perfect summary of our great sport. Winners one minute and then a complete unexplained occurrence the next.

Monmore went very much to plan with the team landing four winners. Five Alley Queen made the most of the step out of Open race company to take the A1 by 1 1/4 lengths in 28.81. Larky Ego picked us up a value win in the Trainers Championship when taking the Ladbrokes.com 630 open race in 38.70 by three lengths. Phoenix Bolt backed up last weeks run with a superb win in the 264 sprint open, getting back up on the line to win in 15.66. Finally at Monmore, Start Itup Sweep took the kennel bragging rights when beating Gaelic Hawk by neck in 28.75

Down at Hove I would have to say it didn't go to plan. In the Coral Olympic all three of our runners were drawn sadly together in an appalling draw. The race proved to be a complete disaster from the start when Exocet seemed to be put off my the delayed start by missing the traps completely and then Express Giant and Master were both caught up in traffic problems around the first two bends. Master battled on well to clinch 3rd place in next weeks Semi Finals.

The evening did end up on a good note when Inaghs Dalcash took the maiden stayers event over 692 metres. Dalcash suffered crowding problems on first and second bend but stayed on superbly well on her open race debut to take the race by 3/4 length in 42.33

Saving the best to last

We had to wait to final two races to notch our winners of the evening last night at Monmore.

Dacent Kacy recorded her third career win when leading all the way in the A3 to take a tricky looking race in 28.79 by 2 1/2 lengths. Kacy has now won 2 of her last 3 races so fingers crossed there is more improvement to come and she can continue to move through the grades.

Proud Pegs Tyler recorded his first Monmore when when showing some great pace and spirit to take the evenings A2 in 28.60 by 3 3/4 lengths. This son of College Causeway is a pup of genuine potential and very much one to follow in the coming weeks.
