Bags

Towcester have secured a bags contract and will be racing Friday and Saturday nights From June live on Bags.
This secures the future of the track and shuts up those punters saying the track will close within 6 months.
This bags contract will also increase
Prize money and give owners the opportunity to see there dogs run if they cannot make it to the track.

New For Sale

With the opening of Towcester on the horizon - we are constantly looking for new emerging race dogs.
Some dogs we are offered we feel are just not worth the money - dogs are being constantly offered to us at 5 figure sums.
However we have just secured 1 dog and 1 bitch for us at westview kennels -
Both these dogs are just raw young pups and are available at low four figure prices - They wont event Cost £2,500 but but they have been competing against dogs that have made £15,000 plus.

Lot 1
This is only a May 2013 baby -

This bitch has been racing in one of the hottest open race stakes in Ireland this year - The Rose Mcillhone Memorial stake at Clonmel - which was worth £5,000 to the winner
This stake contained the likes of 'Borna Gene' - 28.55 at Clonmel - sold for a massive five figure sum to race here in the UK

'Ballymac Georia' - 28.61 Clonmel - £12,000 refused - 'Mustang Chick' - five figure sum refused

As the above shows this stake consisted of some of the best young pups in Ireland.
From the moment this young lady qualified to race in a superfast - 29.34 in youghal - winning by 12 lengths she was earmarked for this competition.

In the 1st round this pup was actually only beaten 4 lengths by 'Borna Gene'

This pup performed with distinction in the heats to reach the final clocking times of 29.11 - 29.16 - 29.10 at Clonmel - which are top class times for one of her age

For the price we have secured this pup at we believe she represents 'huge' value for money - she wont event cost £2,000! - please bear in mind she has been competing against dogs who are making between - £12,000 and £20,000!

She will be arriving here next week at westview kennels - and she will be aimed at puppy open races
Phone me direct to discuss this young puppy more.

Lot 2

Another young pup we have secured for us at Westview Kennels is a terrifically well bred Jan 13 whelp pup - by the legendary 'Westmead Hawk'

His dam - 'Goes Wild' - has also bred top open race winners - including 'Neds Opinion' - recent flying 16.00 seconds open race winner at Perry barr - - 28.69 at Tralee - Goes Bang - 17.67 Nottingham.

This pup made his racing debut at one of Irelands toughest gallops Limerick - only 2 weeks ago -
Missing his break - he was crowded at traps but powered clear on the run to the bend.

From here he showed terrific pace down the back straight to leave his rivals trailing behind to win by over 8 lengths in a smashing time of 29.18 - he would have broken the 29.00 seconds only for missing his break.
We believe this pup has the ability to win top class races at Towcester and also could be aimed at Opens.

Both lots will be joining us here at Westview Kennels next week - Like lot 1 he is available at a very modest low four figure sum which with his proven open race breeding we believe is huge value.

Please phone me direct on 07885 632329 to discuss him further

Y gorau o fechgyn lwc

2011 Sprinter of the year Drumcove Lad's owner James Edwards has joined forces with new owner to the kennel Mike Jones and formed the Anglesey Syndicate.
Both live near the port of Holyhead in North Wales and have recently invested heavily in some really nice pups.
The first pup arrived this week and they have another dozen on the way.
Lets hope the Anglesey syndicate have a lot of luck in the new year.

Big Plans

A leading owner in the kennel is going to create a select syndicate of 10 owners to buy 2 or 3 potential Derby dogs.

With the English Derby this year standing at £250,000

I think creating this syndicate is a great idea and having 2 or 3 Derby dogs gives the kennel a real crack at the big prize.

The owner will be contacting current owners in the kennel shortly to discuss the new syndicate.

We had some great sucess with the one in all in syndicate a fews years back, which was a select team of 10 owners. The syndicate owned Express Shuttle and Maireads Hawk, both dogs went on to win group races on Sky and were very successful.

If any owners are interested give me a call and i will give them more details.

Only one bullet

Roly Woodcock's Excocet is our only entry for the night of the stars this coming saturday
At Shelebourne park.
He flew round in a prep trial on Thursday recording

Exocet will be going for the 575 race, which he won last year.

New Horizons

I had a new lease of life today, as Towcester finally opened its doors to greyhound racing and held its first trial session.
Ive been waiting a few years for this new facility to get up and running but today was the day, to walk on the track with dogs in my arms and watch them go round was a breath of fresh air.

With me leaving Monmore very shortly and moving to Towcester my whole business has had to change from quantity to quality.
My contract at Towcester only needs 30 dogs per week, compared to Monmore where i was suppling the Ladbrokes stadium with around 60 dogs per week, the move to Towcester is far bigger than some people may think.
With two kennels blocks holding over 55 dogs each, I do not need to train over 100 greyhounds  anymore, as Towcester do not require those numbers of dogs.
This is one of the reasons for me moving to Towcester, as i don't want to train so many dogs anymore.
So for the last six months i have been streamlining my business by cutting back on dogs and therefore staff.
My intention once again is to train quality not quantity and with Towcester now open with outstanding facilities, a running surface and a track designed in every way for the safety
of the greyhounds I feel myself and staff are ready to hit the heights again.

We haven't really bought many dogs this year at all, many of my owners have been waiting for Towcester to open before investing again.
We are now back in the game and ready to start again looking for potential talent, but as space is limited now our philosophy is only quality not quantity.

At this point i would like to thank all my owners who have stood by me in the move to Towcester and with my dream of winning the English Greyhound Derby one day, and with
me having no doubt Towcester will hold the Derby and many other big races, i think the move to will become a wise one.

Towcester almost there

A few pics of the track from a recent visit

Leaving at the top

After injury and kennel sickness hit us at the start of the year, Team Allsopp have had a great year, i except we are only 10th in the country, but as we havent been in the market buying everything that moves, i think 10th is a tremendous result, we have still won the Sussex cup and Dorando Marathon.

At Monmore with the graders our year has been fantastic, we are on currently 30% strike rate and  23% for the year, we are still top of the most winners so far this year, but we are leaving Monmore shortly so i doubt we will stay on top.

I would like to thank my staff and owners who has stuck with me this year through good and bad times.

Hopefully we can have similar success together at Towcester.

We will start trialing dogs at Towcester week commencing Monday 17th November.

Lassie comes home....again!
