A decade gone by

It was 10 years today, that i had my first Open race winner Midday Sun owned by my uncles and Aunties won the Ashlands Sprint Open at Milton Keynes.

I was only training as a hobby back then and trained two dogs from my back garden.

We have come along way in 10 years, but if it wasn't for the success that Sunny and Amy had given me, i don't think i would of gone full time and become a professional trainer.

So this small little open at Milton Keynes was the start of a incredible past 10 years, winning over well over 30 group one and two competitions.

Weekend RoundUp

Three winners to report from Monmore tonight, first to kick off was Coppice amy in the A9, we had to wait until her 13th race for her first win but now she has two on the bounce!
We had no less than three runners in the A1 but it was the unfenced 8/1 outsider Curragh Jessie that took off winning well in 28.21
Finally at the Green Proud Pegs Rebel closed the night when victorious in A2 class in 28.56.

No Luck at Newcastle in European Queen's attempt to reach the final of the All England Cup, she ran flat and it transpired after the race that she has shelled a nail and will be on the sidelines for a couple of weeks whilst it grows back.

We had four winners today also with owners Peter Symonds and Will Adamson both having a double courtesy of Selra Pride and Farloe Thekid and good old Boherna Bridge showing the other S2 dogs he is still a class act.
Marie Torries' bitch Goergies Girl looks a nice prospest to follow with a convincing victory today also.

Towcester...you decide

After just two days of announcing my move to Towcester i have already attracted four new owners into the kennel, which is great news and I anticipate many more to follow.

So why choose Towcester!!!!

I have absolutely no doubt that Towcester will become the Ascot of greyhound racing and give owners the wow factor and provide facilities that simply other tracks haven't got.
Towcester greatly value the support and importance of owners and believe in treating them with the respect they deserve.
So the benefits of being an owner at Towcester include,

A separate Owners and Trainers Marquee with discounted bar,
10% off restaurant booking, with a menu like you have never seen before at a greyhound stadium, in plush surroundings,
 Complimentary Tea and Coffee,
Free entry and race card,
An area of the first floor balcony overlooking the winning line
giving you at top class view when your dog is racing,
Photo identification owners badge, which you will be given to wear to gain excess to the balcony suite and marquee.

What other greyhound stadium in the country can offer you these benefits of being an owner of a greyhound and can provide you with separate facilities away from the party packers and general public.
Towcester believe in giving their owners the very best treatment, as you owners do supply the product (the dogs)

I hope this can answer just a few questions, but its best you go see for yourselves the fantastic facilities on offer.
So why not contact Towcester on 01327 353414 or email
chris.page@towcester-racecourse.co.uk for a guided tour and discuss racing matters with the team.

Towcester the future

I have given my notice at Monmore Green today and will leave at the end of the year.

I have had eight great years at the track and would like to thank personally Richard Brankley and his team for giving me the chance to train at Monmore. However all good things come to an end and I have come to the decision that I need a new challenge and I believe that Towcester will give us the opportunity to get back to the top and also to achieve the lifelong ambition of mine to win the Greyhound Derby.

With a new gallop now fully installed at Westview Kennels and the likelihood of new owners making their way to Towcester, myself and my team are more than ready for this new chapter in racing.

I have absolutely no doubt that Towcester will become the Ascot of greyhound racing and will give owners, racegoers and staff the Wow factor and provide facilities and recognition that this sport both needs and deserves.

There will be many changes to the website over the coming days as we readjust our focus towards Towcester which opens for racing in early December.

Eye Eye!

Good to see Tonetta Bound notch another win in A2 class on Friday at Monmore quickly followed by three winners on today's BAGS card by way of Georgie Girl who got off the mark at the second attempt in 29.62, Corley Eye Eye successful notching a double in S4 in 38.90 and finally Coppice Amy in 29.64 in A10....great stuff!

A lick of Paint

We continue with improving the kennel facilities at West View and along with the new Gallop we are giving all the kennels a new make over, with a coat of paint.
While we have a few kennels empty
This gives us a chance to give the kennels a coat of paint, we are pushing towards hitting the heights again in 2015 and anticipate these kennels not being empty for long
