Dollars makes Queen Mother Final

Ten Dollars More qualified for the Corona Queen Mother Memorial Cup at Sheffield last night after finishing second in heat 2 in 39.97. Dollars will have plenty on his plate in the Final as this looks a very hot looking competition. Head Iton Jason lead to the last bend in his heat only be caught and miss out on joining Dollars in the Final.

Suprise Scottish Derby Team

We had five entries for this years Bettor.com Scottish Derby at Shawfied which starts this Saturday. I can reveal that our link with Nick Savva has become even stronger when it was agreed I would start to train Westmead Bolt and Westmead Logan for the Derby in addition to Westmead Grant who ran in the Trainers Championship. Also heading north will be kennel stars Ballymac Ace and Brittons Empire who I hope will be able to show their early pace.

Sky night at Swindon

We will have two runners on the under card for the Arc Final at Swindon on Wednesday. Fifis Rocket will look to maintain his winning ways as he takes on a trappy field in the sprint whilst Borna Jessica will have her hands full in on of the standard races.

Bruno proves the Point

Mallogs Bruno (pictured) open his Monmore account this afternoon when taking the A9 in 29.67. I was also delighted with the success of Direct Point who took the A8 in 29.51. Previous to this race Direct Point has suffered two grade rises without winning a race so I'm for the connections.

Gagsys holds on to maiden win

Gagsys Classic (pictured) recorded his maiden victory last night at Monmore. Classic was quickly away from traps but needed to take deep breath on the turn for home as he hung on by a short head in 29.03.

Top of the league

The success of So Larry in yesterdays big Final at Monmore has put us on top of the 2011 Trainers Championship standings. The kennel is going from strength to strength and I'll never under value the contribution of all the owners and my hard working team.

Happy as Larry in Spring Festival Final

The Britton Family owned So Larry recorded our first big Final win in 2011 when he stormed to a one length success in the Ladbrokes Spring Festival 416. Quickly away from traps the inside berth benefited him greatly as he hung on well to win in 24.67.

Daughter of Peg was frustratingly beaten in the bitches Final going down by just 1 3/4 lengths in a very fast 28.45. Ballymac Ace race ran his heart out to finish 3rd in the Dogs Final behind the highly rated Frisby Fontenblu.

Homestead Speck was on the mark on the under card when she took the S4 in 39.16. The four length win was very impressive and I'm sure she will be adding to her two career wins very soon.

Badger snapped up

The Partridge family have snapped up Westmead Badger to run under their name. Badger was purchased off our popular sale page which still proves to be one of the popular pages on the website. I'd like to wish the Partridge family all the best with new purchase and lets hope he wins many races.

Spring Festival Finals Day

We have a representative in three of the Ladbrokes Spring Festivals tomorrow at Monmore. Sadly I've had to take out Sandy Legend (pictured) after he damaged a nail in his previous run. We have Ballymac Ace in the Dogs Final, Daughter of Peg in the bitches and So Larry 416.

Oh what a night in Trainers Championship

Wow ! What a night. I'm so proud of the dogs, the staff and all our owners for such a fantastic night at Wimbledon where we finished runners up in the Betfair Trainers Championship. Congratulations to Thomas Kelly who had his first winner for us when Fifis Rocket (pictured) took the Sprint.  A full report including all reaction will be posted here tomorrow. I'd like to record my congratulations to Charlie Lister and all the other trainers who made it a great night for greyhound racing.

Team ready for Trainers Championship Challenge

A massive night for the kennel tomorrow as we travel to Wimbledon to compete in the 2011 Betfair Trainers Championship. Its a great honour to be going in to battle against the biggest names in sport but I can assure you we are not going there to make the numbers up. All the team are primed to give there best.

For all those travelling down in our army I'd like to thank you all for your support again. Please remember the coach is leaving the Cleveland Arms 1-1.30pm and the Bull & Butcher 2-2.30pm - Don't be late.........

The night consists of eight high quality races. Each winner is awarded 10 points, 2nd 5 points, 3rd 4 points, 4th 3 points, 5th 2 points, last 1 point. Which ever trainer has most points is crowned the Champion Trainer.

Here are my thoughts on our chances -
7.40 Uncle Rico - Still a maiden and thrown in at the deep end. Would be great if he could pick up early points for us but looks a tough ask.

8.00 Fifis Rocket - Tends to break well from trap 6 and has beaten this class of opposition before. Very hopeful.

8.15 Express Rocket - Obviously has stand out form. Whilst he trialed around Wimbledon he has come straight from Monmore. Different traps and plenty of pace to deal with.

8.35 Ten Dollars More (pictured)- Three from three in 2011. Seems to be in the form of his life and I'm expecting a big run which will get our supporters cheering.

8.50 Borna Jessica - Our only bitch running. Never runs a bad race, would love her to trap out !
9.10 Westmead Grant - Making debut for kennel. I'm expecting a big run and score some useful points.

9.25 Head Iton Jason - This dog is on fire. Three straight wins since joining us. Very tough race, its like the St Leger Final. I'm sure he will give his best but looks like a tough assignment.

9.45 Brittons Empire - Will need to use her massive early pace and trap to perfection. If she leads off the last, cheer loud and help her get home.

What ever the result it promises to be wonderful night. Good luck to all those who have runners. Please take your camera's with you to record the night. I'd like to post your photos on the site as a record. I might even sort out a prize for best photo ! Just send them to ndugganisrm@hotmail.com who will edit what you have and make them live on the site.

Ace run in Spring Festival

Ballymac Ace (pictured) bounced back to form this afternoon when taking Heat 3 of the Dogs 480 Spring Festival at Monmore. The 28.77 win was even more satisfying at it was the first time he has won after being led. Well pleased. Sandy Legend joins Ace in the Final after chasing home Frisby Fontenblu who took Heat 2 in a very fast 28.38.

Daughter of Peg will represent us in the Bitches Final as she was caught in the shadow of line to finish 2nd. If she reproduces her early pace in the Final I think she will be tough to beat.

Finally So Larry qualified for the 416 Final after finishing 2nd to Westmead Logan.

Corgan and Hilary record the double

After two good second Richter Corgan (pictured) took last nights A2 with an impressibe 28.51 by 1 1/2 lengths. Ballymac Hilary was in warm order in the betting ring and went off as the 5/4 favourite in the A6. Hilary was quick away and never gave her supporters a worry as she strode out well to win in 29.18 to record her 7th career win from just 23 races.

Pozuelo wins on Gold Cup day

Just the one winner for us this afternoon when Sportium Pozuelo took the afternoon S4 in 39.38. This was Sportiums 6th career win. Whilst she will never win the Oaks she is a bitch with a big heart who tries her hardest every week.

Happy as Larry

The Neil Britton owned So Larry took last nights 416 on the supporting card of the Puppy Derby. Larry who was being stepped up in distance for the first time showed some rapid early pace and then hung on well to register his third career win in the UK in 25.03. Pictures care of Dave Yanez.

Still over the moon with the Shuttle

It was a case of so near so far last night as Express Shuttle finished a brilliant second in the Monmore Puppy Derby Final. The way the Shuttle ran tonight I couldn't have been more pleased, he ran his heart out and just got beat by an exceptional greyhound in Droopys Greg. Congratulations to Gary Newbon, Nick Savva and his team. I'd like to thank all my owners for coming along and giving us great support. Many thanks to Dave Yanez (davidyanez@mac.com) for the photographs.

After much deliberation I can confirm the following dogs have been selected to represent us in the 2011 Trainers Championship next Tuesday live on Sky. Siobhan is the Monday winner

Ballymac Siobhan recorded her 9th career win this afternoon when taking the A5 in 28.91. Siobhan is a real working girl who thrives on her racing and her 9 wins from 40 starts are a real credit to her.

Sunday 13 March 2011

Saturday Round Up

Cap and Collar (pictured) kicked the Saturday evening racing off well for us when he took the opener which was an A9 in 29.58. This lad had started his career off well with a second and now a win. I've always been sweet on Galtee Kaz and my confidence was rewarded when she took the A8 by 5 3/4 lengths in 29.29. Fatboyz Romeo appreatied the step in to A1 as he showed his all round pace when winning in 29.00.

Jo snapped in action

Our photographer caught kennel hand Joe in fine form this morning. This mean and moody shot was many taken this morning which will be used on the site and blog in coming weeks. Pups land at Westview

I had a fantastic litter of pups land here at Westview Kennels. The pups were whelped in December and as you can see are very strong. They are bred Hondo Black x  Delwood Sharleen. Sharleen a daughter of the sensational brood Farloe Oyster and a sister to many top class greyhounds like Fear Zafonic,  Ninja Jamie, Farloe Reason , Farloe Merlin. Hondo Black is one of the leading sires in UK and Ireland. There is three dogs (£650 each) and 1 bitch (£350).Inspection is welcomed, please call for more details.

Slim on song

The Anthony Cameron owned Fatboyz Slim (pictured) continued his build up towards his UK debut yesterday at Monmore. Slim won his trial by 9 1/2 lengths in 28.93, very impressive for a marathon dog. Hopefully Anthony's patience will be rewarded as we have taken our time with this dog to get him 100% settled.

Monmore Puppy Derby Final Draw 2011

The nine lucky owners "The One All in Syndicate" are very much looking forward to Thursdays Final at Monmore. The Shuttle is another dog sold off our own website and blog. Just to show there is a great chance to own a super dog at a resonable price. Draw for Thursday’s £12,500 final: 1 Express Shuttle, 2 Razldazl Bugatti, 3 Shades Of Nobby, 4 Call Me Fast, 5 Freedom Chief (m), 6 Droopys Greg (m).

High fives at Monmore

A fantastic effort from the team last night as we recorded five winners. Whilst Express Shuttle caught the headlines in the Puppy Derby there was other exceptional performances. Ard Blossom didn't seem to mind the competition in the A2 grade as she beat kennelmate Richster Corgan in 28.68. Glenagower Champ (pictured) recorded a deserved win in the S1 when hanging on in short head in 38.98. Jennas Pony took her first honours when taking the A4 in 29.16. Finally Ballymac Pact made it two wins from two starts when recording a two length win in A4 grade in 29.31.

Shuttle flies in to Puppy Derby Final

Express Shuttle (pictured) blasted in to the Monmore 2011 Puppy Derby Final with an all the way win in 28.58. The son of Kiowa Sweet Trey blasted from traps to lead all the way to record a 1 1/4 length win. Only heat 1 winner Shades of Nobby recorded a fast sectional, whilst the fastest Semi Final was the third one which was taken my favourite Droopys Greg.

Ace to miss Trainers Championship

Ballymac Ace will miss the 2011 running of the Trainers Championship after only recording 29.19 on normal going at Wimbledon this morning. We hope to get to the bottom of the problem quickly. All the other trialists went very well - Borna Jessica 28.75, Uncle Rico 28.95, Brittons Empire and Fifi's Rocket 16.12.

Another delight for the kennel

A have managed to secure a very promising July 09 puppy called Premier Delight.  This son of the great Premier Fantasy made his debut around Galway on Sat Night winning by an amazing 13 lengths in a great time of 29.18.This was easily the fastest time of the night, the A1 was only won in a 29 23.

The 29.18 which this striking black dog recorded was the fourth fastest time of the year around the stiff 480 circuit at Galway.

To put this run into perspective the brilliant Burnpark Champ made his debut at Galway, he recorded a 29.45. Burnpark Champ went on to be the fastest dog I have any trained so far in my career.

I am pleased to offer you Premier Delight at a reduced price of £8000, compared to his price on Greyhound Data which was £10000

4 shares @ £2000 each (1 share already sold)

Call me on 07885 632329 – Please not I am back on my old number.

Five of the our open race team head to Wimbledon in morning for a work out hoping to impress as I get nearer to selecting the final Trainers Championship team. Tomorrow it will be Ballymac Ace, Brittons Empire, Uncle Rico, Borna Jessica and Fifis Rocket.

Pick up times for Trainers Championship

To ensure we all get to Wimbledon on time next week the coach will be leaving the Cleveland Arms at 1.30pm and then the Bull and Butcher near the kennels at 2.30pm.

Slim steps out

Fatboyz Slim recorded a pleasing 15.99 in a sprint trial at Monmore this morning. That's a great first effort for a marathon dog. Westmead Grant also caught the eye with a 27.77 run in very strange going.
