The drive back from Sunderland on Thursday seemed longer than ever without a winner on the van. It was a story of near misses and trouble in running. Centaur Allstar and Rev Counter came closest to winning as both finished second. At Hove it was a different matter as both Droopys Jervis and Indigo King both flashed around the Sussex track to win their respective Opens. Indigo King made it 6 wins on the bounce when taking the opening heat in 29.63. Droopys Jervis recorded his first win away from Monmore as he scorched round in 29.39.

Indigo strikes 6
