Just Loose Change for Adamson

Loyal owner Will Adamson has snapped us a 1/4 share is the kennels latest arrival Loose Change.

'Loose Change' is a stunning blue dog who only an October 2011 Pup. He is by leading young sire  'Scolari Me Daddy' - who has already produced the likes of 'Lemon Pluto'. 'Loose Change' recently night lit up Enniscorthy with a simply brilliant display for a puppy having his 1st race. Drawn in trap 4 he rocketed from traps and left his field trailing behind, simply in a different class he won by a massive 19 lengths in the fastest time of the night of 29.13.

Three shares remain at £1,750. Please call me to secure your your share.

Look who's back

Our former kennel superstar and Scurry winner Drumcove Lad (pictured), who has been retired twice, recorded a remarkable come back win tonight at Coventry. Lad was smartly away from traps to take the 263 metre race in 15.98 by one length. Welcome back old boy !

Express Giant made it three wins out of three when taking Heat 2 in the React Fraggal 1988 Cup. Giant made use of he rapid early pace to lead all the way to take the contest in 29.19 by 2 3/4 lengths.

Hiker puts best foot forward

Borna Hiker hasn't had the best of luck in his short career to date however last night he made no mistake and stayed free of all traffic problems as he broke smartly and was never headed to last a trappy looking A1 by one length in 28.32

This lad has some serious gears and lets hope he can build on this success in open race company.

Hats off to Charlie .....again.......

Charlie Lister OBE added another English Derby to his ever increasing list of honours when Sidaz Jack  took last nights £150,000 prize when taking the prestigious crown by 1 1/4 lengths in 28.37. Congratulations to Charlie, his team and connections.

Summer Classic Performances

 Strategic Review
Afewdollarsmore

The kennel landed todays £7,500 Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Classic for the third time in four years when the Mick Giles-owned Afew Dollarsmore snatched a thrilling short-head victory over odds-on Dural Bound in  a grandstand finish in 37.74.
Mick Giles had previously won the same race in 2010 with Ten Dollars More, and the kennel also won the Category One prize in 2011 thanks to Head Iton Jason.
Aghaburren Paddy set a hot pace, leading to the run in, but began to run out of petrol and Afew Dollarsmore and Dural Bound closed rapidly, but crucially, Afew Dollarsmore had first run on his rival.  They went past together, but the Dollars just prevailed.
We love this event at our home track and it’s proved hugely kind for us. If anything, the withdrawal of trap three helped us, because we desperately needed to get ahead of Dural Bound, and it proved a fantastic race.
It was a big race double on the day for the kennel as Strategic Review took the £2,000 puppy final by nine lengths in a fast 27.91
This is a good pup and he proved that when he was runner-up in the Puppy Derby before finishing third in Kinsley’s Gymcrack after which he picked up a niggle. We gave him a break and decided to target this but of course the draw in four looked awful, but he handled it, and made the bend.
He broke well, tried to edge in but crowded slightly with Hannah Pearl before kicking clear at the turn, leaving trouble behind. Hannah Pearl recovered to take second and make it a local forecast.
We had to settle for second place in the 416 Final with the brave Kirk Superstar as you have to acknowledge the super run away winner Mottos Impact who took the race by 24.48
In the graded races before the Finals, Shades of Dasya made it a fantastic three straight wins in the A2 by defying the grader again with a stunning 8 1/4 length win in 28.43.

It's all about the Dollar

Ferndale Dollar seemed some what over graded when she started with us at Monmore. A2 is a a very tough place to start for any young dog or bitch. Thankfully she has been eased in grade after a number of runs without troubling the racing manager. Last night she did take advantage as she ran on very strongly to take the A5 by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.92 to give connections their first win.

Giant shows express pace

Express Giant made it two wins from two starts when taking the £750 Maiden Final last night at Coventry with a battling performance. Giant had to over come early crowding and a regular battle throughout before forcing his way clear to win by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.51.

This son of Kiowa Sweet Trey x Express Tune has some real potential and I'm hoping he can give his connections many good nights out in the future.

Classic runs at Monmore

Ladbrokes and Monmore put on a fantastic afternoon on racing today to entertain any greyhound racing  fan. The afternoon started well when Proud Pigalle took the opener, an A3, by 2 1/4 lengths in 28.43

The first competition to start was the Puppy 480 and Strategic Review (pictured) instantly struck a blow for our team when he flew around the Monmore track to take Heat 1 in 28.13

Moving onto the Summer Stayers Classic, Afewdollarsmore sprang a 8/1 surprise in Heat 1 when putting in a brilliant run and then hung on gamely to win in 37.97 by just a head.

Finally in the 416 competition there was further good news when in Heat 2 Phoenix Bolt and Kirk Superstar finished 1st and 2nd. Bolt simply flew from trap 1 to win by 4 1/4 lengths in 24.71. Cape Impact will join our heat 2 qualifiers in the Final as he finished second to the smart Guinness Sky who took the race in 24.21

Coventry Action

No winners to report from Coventry last night but there was a number of encouraging runs. Start itup Sweep (pictured) was second in the maiden 485, Boherna Bridge was third in heat three of the stayers competition whilst Ballycowen Dave put in a solid performance to finish second on his come back.

Diva Magic

The July 2011 Bitch Puppy, Jacks Diva, made it back to back wins at Monmore last night when stepping up in grade to A9. Diva was in a handy position approaching the first bend and then took up the lead coming out of bend. From that point forward she kicked on to win by four lengths in 29.54

We had to wait until the final race of the evening for our second winner when Shades of Dasya ran out a convincing winner of the A3 by 3 1/4 lengths in 28.54. This victory was the 8th of her career.

Sky's the limit

Lightning Sky (pictured) made to drop down to A2 grade pay once more last night when making it an all the way victory by one length in 28.41. Sky is a real model on consistency and gives his all in every race. This was the dogs 7th career win from 23 races.

Physic Wayne is on the upgrade and proves his well being by taking the A5 by 1 length in 28.77. Our final winner of the evening to report is Shades Of Zeta. Zeta took the race by its neck from after rounding the first bend and then kicked clear but need need to hold off a later challenge to take the race in 28.56.

Giant stars in Coventry debut

Express Giant (pictured) made a stunning debut last night at Coventry when romping to a four length win in Heat 1 of the Maiden Competition. Giant was very quickly away from traps and was never headed in the 485 metre contest winning in 29.21

Senor George was very unlucky in Heat 3 as he looked to be going round in front only to be taken out which cost him his place in the Final. His day his will come for sure in the very near future.

In the Bitches Final we had to settle for a frustrating 2nd and 4th place with Express Flame and Dixies Craft. Congratulations to winner Fionntra Molly who took the race in 29.10

Highly rated Loose Change to join team for sale

Such is the high profile of our kennel at Westview that we are constantly being offered greyhounds that emerge in the Emerald Isle many are way over priced and the others are simply not good enough.

Our main Man in Ireland who has supplied us and other leading kennels with numerous outstanding talents including the likes of Burnpark Champ - the fastest dog to be ever trained at Westview, Express Shuttle - Brittons Empire - You mind me (Pall mall winner) Captain Ccolari (Northern Irish Derby winner) Oran classic - English Derby finalist - Irish Derby runner up - the list is endless.

He only recently supplied us with 'Express Giant' who made a hugely impressive debut for us when winning at Coventry in a very fast 29.21. With his contacts we have just completed the deal on another hugely promising puppy that a lot of other owners and trainers here and in Ireland were looking to secure.

'Loose Change' is a stunning blue dog who only an October 2011 Pup. He is by leading young sire  'Scolari me Daddy' - who has already produced the likes of 'Lemon Pluto'. 'Loose Change' last Monday night lit up Enniscorthy track with a simply brilliant display for a puppy having his 1st race. Drawn in trap 4 he rocketed from traps and left his field trailing behind, simply in a different class he won by a massive 19 lengths in the fastest time of the night of 29.13.

Enniscorthy is rated one of the slower running tracks in Ireland, it would be at least .40 spots slower than the likes of Tralee, Shelbourne or Limerick tracks. If he was racing on one of the faster tracks he would be doing at least a 28.70 run.

Most pups his age and profile are commanding five figure prices but such is our contacts we have managed to secure him at a price which is well short of five figures. With natural improvement to come we feel that he will go on to emerge as a top open class pup on the open race scene. We will aim him at all the major open class puppy competitions including the likes of the Romford Puppy cup which is an £8,000 to winner category one event.

Interested parties can contact me direct to discuss this highly exciting puppy further.

Pups Trial News

Strategic Review returned to track action this morning after his layoff. 28.33 was a great run considering the amount of work he has had put into him so far.

Rathanny Ruth, our Puppy Oaks winner, recorded a workmanlike 28.61 after coming away from traps slowly.

Finally Express Master posted a scintinating 28.18 beating the smart Borna Hiker four lengths.

The plan in to enter them all in the 480 Puppy competition starting at Monmore on Monday.

Don't rule our Connors come Friday

Connors Legend ran extremely well last night when finishing second in Heat 3 of the Coral on TV Maiden Stayers at Romford. Connors had plenty of trouble in running and we were all pleased with his 24.30 performance.

This was the dogs first run around this tight circuit and he could well improve on this effort in Fridays Final in which he has drawn trap 1. Good Luck to connections.

Sidelight sets standard in Summer Stayers

The Ladbrokes Summer Stayers started this afternoon attracting most countries stayers.

Sidelight (pictured) provided us with a prestigious first round win when the son of Hondo Black x Borna Fence pinged from traps and was never headed in the 630 metre contest to win by 1/2 length in 38.15

Sidelight will be joined in Fridays Semi Final by Afew Dollarsmore who stayed on strongly to snatch third in Heat 5 in 38.21

On the supporting graded card Jacks Diva recorded her first success when getting up where it mattered most to take the A10 in 29.70. Finally, Shades of Dasya took advantage of a drop in grade to A4 as she ran out a 1 1/2 winner in 28.77

Strong finishing from home team

A strange night of racing with us having all our three winners in the last four races.

Lynns Blackie got us up and running when defying the strange rise in grade to A2 to take the contest by a comfortable three lengths in 28.63.

Lady Sadie beat Ballymac Clara in a very competitive A4 race in 28.80. Sadie won the race the hard way by bursting from traps and then leading all the way to take the race by 1 1/4 lengths.

Vedfield Solid made it a night to remember as he took the final race on the card a very tough looking A1. Solid matched strides with kennel mate Baileys Quest early on but Solid ran a great first two bends and there was no catching him as he went on to win by 1 1/4 length in 28.53

Get Well Soon Martin Burt

All the team here at Westview Kennels would like to wish Martin Burt a very speedy recovery as he sadly suffered a stroke this week.

Martin is one of the sports genuine characters and was a great trainer at his beloved Monmore and around the country on the open race scene.  Martin was a trainer to be feared when on the road. I once heard Peter Meldurm say about Martin "if Burty's here then he doesn't travel for nothing".

Get well soon !

Queen and Sweep land the double

A good night of racing at Monmore last night saw us come away with two winners.

Start Itup Sweep surprised us all as he made it back to back wins by taking the A1 in 28.49 after stealing a lead at the first bend. Fifis Flyer was the more fancied of our runners but his chance ended after suffering early crowding.

Five Alley Queen build on her first win the previous week when putting in another eye catching victory when taking the A2 by a short head in 28.54. This young bitch will keep on improving.

In the Staff v Challenge Tipping challenge it was another win for the owners as Matt Garnett beat me in good style. Well done Matt.

Master Class in Monmore trials

Keith Warner's Express Master simply flew around Monmore yesterday in his first 480 metre trial at Monmore since arriving in England.

The son of Kiowa Sweet Trey x Express Mist stopped the clock in a sensational 28.22 and winning the trial by 11 lengths. This lad looks like a top class prospect. We will be keeping everything crossed he can stay injury free and give Keith many great nights out.

Ruth is Puppy Oaks Queen

The Paul Oliver owned Rathanny Ruth recorded our 4th Puppy Oaks win at Nottingham tonight with a gutsy win showing some great all round pace. Ruth had to ride trouble around the first two bends before kicking clear out of the second bend to go on to take the £500 prize in 28.72

This is a serious result for Paul who has suffered some terrible bad luck with Kokora and Ladbrokes Star.

This race is certainly one of our luckiest have taken the race with Cabra Fly, Swift Pat and Bawna Anna in the past.

Well done to all the team, we deserved this success.

Back at Monmore Will Adamson's Farloe thekid took advantage of the drop to A4 with an all the way victory in 28.92

Fat Boy Challenge

Given the interest in the Thursday night tipping challenge we will keep it going for a couple of more weeks. I'll be putting myself forward to take on loyal owner Matt Garnett. Quite a brave move if given a victory for Matt he will no doubt letting us all know about it for months ! Currently the Owners lead 4-2.

Matt - Please post your selections on FB before 6pm please.

Hatrick for Smart Bid as Sweep land the odds

Smart Bid is in the form of his life at the moment and it will be a very good dog or a tough draw to lower his colours. Last night he made it a hatrick of open race wins when taking the Ladbrokes.com 480 at Monmore. Quickly away from his trap 2 draw he was never headed to win by three lengths in 27.99

Start Itup Sweep went off a very warm favourite in the A2 and supporters were heading downstairs to collect their winnings from the bookmakers as soon as son of Hondo Black hit the front and kicked clear to win by three lengths in 28.45

Queen stars as Martin snatches victory for the owners

Dean Martin snatched the Thursday night tipping challenge in last night final race when Klockwork Kaipo took the A1 in convincing fashion and give Dean a £15.00 winning margin on the night.

Both tipped up our very own future staying bitch Five Alley Queen who build on her first two promising runs to record a gutsy win in 28.95. Queen had to overcome significant traffic problems to record her win. I'm very hopefully for this bitches future.

Earlier on in the evening Sophies Boyo took advantage of the drop down to A7 to add a second win to her young career record as she took the race by 1/2 length in 28.93

New boys Dixon ready to equalise

New staff member John Dixon which represent the staff this week as we bid to equalise against our loyal owners in the Thursday night tipster challenge. I'll select the lucky owner to take on Gary on Facebook.

Ruth goes for Puppy Oaks Final

The pictured Rathanny Ruth will contest the Stadium Bookmakers Puppy Oaks Final at Nottingham next Monday after a great run to finish second in Heat 1 of the competition in 29.00. Ruth will have plenty to find in the Final buts it's still a great achievement for this young bitch who is improving with more experience.

Proud Barney has not perhaps lived up to early expectations however he repaid his owners faith with a superb 2 3/4 length win in 28.94 when taking the Maiden Final and the £400 first prize.

Thought is our Monday winner

Just the one winner for our team this afternoon at Monmore as Who Thought It took the afternoons A3 in 29.26. After a blast of early pace, Who Thought It, came under under real pressure in the closing strides of the race but the gutsy son of Ace Hi Ruble got up to win by a short head.

Getta sprints clear at the Green

Goa Getta (pictured) was at the top of his form last night at Monmore as he took the Ladbrokes.com 264 Sprint Open in a very smart 15.61 by 1 length. This was the dogs 6th career win and should hopefully continue to win races of the nature given a smart break from traps.

Start Itup Sooty didn't let the rise to A3 stop him adding another victory to his already smart recorded as he overcame some first bend crowding and then stormed clear coming out the third bend to go away to win by three lengths in 28.54

Down at Wimbledon Farloe Luigi put in a whole hearted performance in Heat 21 of the William Hill Derby to finish 3rd and seal a place in the second round draw.

Wayne delivers our Friday winner

Just the one winner for us on Fridays BAGS meeting as Physic Wayne recorded his second career win when taking the afternoons A6 in 29.17.  I'm hoping the win will trigger a rise through the grades for this son of Broadacres Turbo.

Smart Performance in 480 Monmore Final

Smart Bid took the Ladbrokes.com 480 Final on Thursday in awesome style when bursting from traps to lead all the way to win by three lengths in a rapid 28.32.  Its great to have this son of Ninja Jamie x Expert Flash back to the top of his form. Congratulations to connections who took the £500 prize.

On the under card a new competition started over 630 metres. Afewdollarsmore booked a place in next weeks Final after finishing 2nd in Heat 1 in 38.06. Joining him in the Final will be Joscar who snatched a qualifying place from Heat 2 in 38.40
