Sky delivers Lightning strike again
Lightning Sky recorded his 11th career victory at Hove last night when taking the 475 Standard.
Sky was quickly away from traps and made the most of clear passage around the outside of the track. Lode Esteem took up the running off the second bend up the inner but on the run for home Sky stayed on well to win by 1/2 length in 27.94.
Dixies Craft was sadly eliminated from the Brighton Belle at the Semi Final stage.

Incitatus impresses in TV Trophy Heat
Incitatus caught the eye at Yarmouth yesterday when taking Heat 2 of the Paddy Power TV Trophy. Our fawn dog was always in touch with the pack on the first lap before stepping up a gear passing through the field. On the home turn he passed long time leader Golden Donaire to go away to win by 3 1/2 lengths in 53.74.
Next weeks £8,000 Final looks very tough with Musical Gaga 1/3F with the sponsors Paddy Power.
Up at Nottingham the Seamus Cahill trained Droopys Odell took the Puppy Classic. Our two contenders had both done well to reach such a big final and I'm sure both will find easier opportunities in the near future.
We had two second places at Monmore with Ferndale Dollar going closest, going down by a head.

Dunphy's pups bound to catch attention at Sales
A know a good many of you like a trip to the Sales to try and snap up a bargain buy so I'd thought I'd let you know that a total of 54 lots are due to go under the hammer at Hall Green on Sunday.
The third trial should spark interest as it features Shedfield Melody, a January 12 son of Goldmine Ramble and Rising Promise who has won two of his three starts at Youghal, the last in a calculated 29.60 for the 480 metres.
The Dunphy brothers will send over four unraced youngsters. Litter-sisters Droopys Delilah and Droopys Angel, April 12 whelps by dual Derby winner Westmead Hawk out of Droopys Sign, will be closely watched when they meet in the eighth trial.
Pre-sale trials commence at 11am, after which there will be a break when videos of the trials can be watched and the Irish books examined. The auction is due to commence around 1.30pm. If any one needs any advice then please give me a ring. Always happy to help an existing owner or some one looking to buy one.

Hitting the front in Trainers Championship
It was good hear all our hard work and continued support for my owners has paid off as we have gone to the front of the Ladbrokes sponsored Trainers Championship. We have a 23 point gap at the top but the competition is very close behind. Paul Young could yet throw down the biggest challenge.
Tonight is the Puppy Classic Final at Nottingham were Laoisis First and Five Alley Queen take their chance. I'm sure the Cahill camp are very confident though with the smart Droopys Odell.

Superstar sets record straight
Connections were very disappointed recently when Kirk Superstar didn't make the cut for the Ladbrokes 416 Festival competition at our home track of Monmore however they did gain some mild compensation at Coventry last night.
Competing in the Dillard Dash, Superstar bolted out the traps over the 263 metre trip and then stayed on well on hang on by a hard fought head in 15.99.

Woodcock seals the deal to snap up Prospect
Loyal owner Roly Woodcock has just sealed the deal to purchase the promising Irish recruit "Prospect". Roly has has a tough year with injuries to both Joscar and Ballycowen Dave. I'm really hoping this new dog and get Roly back to winning Finals.
Ballycowen Dave is also on come back trail and we are aiming him at the Kent Derby once again.
Prospect settles well into new home
New arrival Prospect had a good journey over from Ireland and has settled in well. Its always good to see dogs settle well. He seemed to enjoy all the owners company this morning.
'Prospect' is an a son of 'Ace Hi Rumble x Flying Winner' who of course was sold for £70,000 to Harry Findlay and went on to win the TV Trophy & The Regency at Hove (£15k to winner).
'Prospect' has recently been competing in the highly prestigious Kasco Novice Stake at Thurles, one of the slower running tracks in Ireland. This stake has previosuly been won by such superstars as Milldean Phanther. This stake was over 480 metres which is way too short for 'Prospect' to show his true ability.
Never the less he showed aeroplane pace one night when he made the 1st bend in front and from there he was simply in a different league as he powered to an emphatic 5 lengths win in a brilliant winning time of 29.00 (-.10slow)
*****1st in 28.90 525 yards race Thurles****
(Major open class run)
The further 'Prospect' raced that night the further he was in front - Please look at video the night he won and judge for yourself - watch the pace he showed from the last bend to winning line.
It takes a major open class dog to break the 29.00 seconds barrier at Thurles and thats what this lad has done. It would be a 28.60 run at the likes of Limerick, Shelbourne - etc.
'Prospect' comes from a major open class litter. His comrades include the likes of the great legendary 'Volcano' ,one of the best stayers in Ireland or England (£50,000 refused - Money simply cannot buy her.) 'Balance Sheet' sold to the UK for £10,000 after doing 29.21 at Thurles ( 4 1/2 lengths slower than this lad and he wont cost as much!!) 'Calzaghe Lilly' winner of the 2013 William hill grand prix @ sunderland £15,000 to winner. Our very own 'Afewdollarsmore' (winner of the Summer Stayers Classic) who is one of the best stayers in the UK comes from the great 'Flying Winner".
His dam has already produced some of the best stayers in racing today - whatever 'prospect' does over 4 bends is a bonus - as with his stamina packed breeding his future is over the 6 bends.
It is no exaggeration to say hat all the leading trainers and owners in the UK & Ireland were fielding enquires about him & his sister (Volcano) for the upcoming £15,000 English St Leger at Wimbledon in November and also the likes of The Great North run at Newcastle.
He arrives this week at Westview Kennels and we are extremely delighted to be training him as dogs with his breeding, pace and staying ability are rare commodities in todays game.
His pet name is Polar.
If you are interested in purchasing this potential staying superstar please phone me further discuss this excting talent further.

Zeta is Saturday winner
Shades of Zeta provided us with our only winner on Saturday night at Monmore when taking a very competitive A1 at the huge odds of 10/1.
Zeta rode a bump on the first bend well and then when under pressure on the home straight she kicked again to win by a short head in 29.11.

Many thanks to Dave Yanez for forwarding this great images of Sidelight today. Please order any images from this link.
Sidelight takes Ladbrokes Gold Cup Stayers Final
Sidelight continued his fantastic 2013 this afternoon when taking the £5,000 Ladbrokes Gold Cup Festival 630 Final.
Sidelight smashed out of traps as per the Semi Final and was simply never headed over the 630 metres trip to romp to a 5 3/4 lengths in 37.76. This was simply a fantastic performance and a massive well done to all the team who work so hard. Boherna Bridge finished a brave third when Farloe Calamity will have plenty more of these types of opportunities in the future.
In the other Finals, Corley Gary finished 4th in the Puppy Final, Lightning Sky and 4th in Gold Cup in from of Express Giant in 6th whilst Cape Impact (4th) beat Phoenix Bolt(6th) in the 416 Final.

Blackie in charge
Lynns Blackie added another valuable A1 victory to his record last night. Blackie overcame first round crowding to go on to win by 1 3/4 lengths in 29.07.
Down at Hove Dixies Craft qualified for the next round of the Brighton Belle when finishing second in Heat 1 in 30.54. A very good run by the consistent bitch.

Good Luck to all at Ladbrokes Finals day
I'd like to wish all my owners all the very best of luck for tomorrows Ladbrokes sponsored Finals day at Monmore. We just need some speedy breaks and some luck in running. Hope to see a good few of you track side. (Photo - Sidelight)

Warner hoping to make a bang
From the excitement and pleasure Express Master has given his owner Keith Warner in the past few weeks, Keith has dug deep again and snapped up a lovely big blue and white bitch called Night Time Bang.
Keith is new to the sport and I'm really hoping this March 2011 bitch can build on her 2 wins from 2 starts in Ireland and give Keith, who is an ex horse race trainer owner, some great nights racing.

Who fancies a Prospect
As we continue to strive for excellence and the Trainers Championship race hots up we are continually looking to bolster our major open race team.
Arriving at Westview Kennels is a greyhound the whole of the UK & Ireland were looking to buy for all the top class open race staying competitions. This dog was even been earmarked to go to Dubai just like a lot of the other top stayers/marathon runners.
However through out number one main mans contacts and our relationship with the breeder we are delighted to announce that we have managed to secure this special talent.

Two shares left in Friday Finalist
Peter Symonds and Howard Jenkinson have taken a 1/4 share each of Farloe Calamity today who runs in the £5,000 Stayers Final at Monmore on Friday.
All new owners of Calamity are welcome on Friday at Monmore for the Finals Day owners buffet in the restaurant which is always a great spread and occasion put on by the sponsors (Ladbrokes) before the afternoons racing.
Call me ASAP to avoid disappointment as only two shares remain in this lovely bitch who is third favourite to win Fridays Final and could give her new owners an instant return on their investment.

Monday is funday
After a great afternoon at Monmore we then headed to Nottingham and Romford.
Five Alley Queen produced a superb display in the Caffreys Puppy Classic Semi Final. Queen was quickly away from traps and made most of her wide trap six berth to go on and win by 3/4 length in 29.94. Joining Queen in the final is recent recruit Laoises First who over came first bend traffic problems but then stayed on well to finish second in 30.00. To reach a final of this class is a great achievement for this young bitch and dog.
Proud Barney is clearly loving his trips to Nottingham as he recorded another win on his favourite track when taking the Standard Trophy by 1 1/4 length in 30.00.
Down at Romford, Highfire Bruce recorded his first win for new owner Ray Thompson. Bruce was very quickly into stride on the rails and led all the way to win by 3 3/4 lengths in 24.23. The win was in the Coral on TV Maiden Trophy heats and we will be hoping for another big run in the Final.

Sky springs Gold Cup surprise as Sidelight stars in Stayers
Some very scrappy races at Monmore this afternoon in the Ladbrokes Gold Cup Festival which us ending up with a representative in each of the Finals.
The first Gold Cup Semi Final was just bedlam ! Severe crowding on the rails ended all chances of Daddy Knowsbest and Strategic Choice whilst 33/1 chance Lightning Sky (pictured) took advantage to take it up on the run in after further crowding to win by a head in 29.06. In the third Semi Final Express Giant ran a massive race behind Lemon Pluto in 28.89 to reach a major Final.
The Puppy competition proved our depth in the kennel when Corley Gary, only recently sold off the website for a bargain price, instantly repaid his owners faith by taking Heat 1 in 29.00. I do love it when owners get this sort of instant return.
The 416 competition we will have two winners in the Final despite not having a heat winner. Phoenix Bolt finished third in heat 1 in 24.88 and Cape Impact finished 2nd in Heat 2 in 24.80.
In the 630 Stayers event the ever improving Sidelight proved once again his standing as one of our kennel stars as he romped to 6 1/2 length win over kennel mate Boherna Bridge in 37.88. Afew Dollarsmore and Goa Girl both suffered trouble in running.
Farloe Calamity, who is looking for a new owner or 4 syndicate shares available, finished second in 38.57. If she was to win on Friday any new owner who get her for nothing ! Why not get involved and give me a call tonight.

Form to match the Ego
Dara McCarthys Larky Ego stayed on gamely last night at Coventry to land the RD Racing Maiden Stayers race by 1/2 length in 42.36. Ego took it up around the second bend and never saw another dog until the shadow of the line where she got the nod over the staying on Rainham Tiger.
Dixies Craft ran a great race in the Bitches race but was denied by a narrow 1/2 length in 29.47.

Pigalle is Saturday winner
The ultra consistent Proud Pigalle never fails to give he all in any race and he added another race to his solid card last night when making all to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 28.76 at Monmore.
This was the dogs 6th career win from 30 races.

Incitatus is TV Trophy bound
I forgot to report on my catch up report to our web team the victory of Incitatus (pictured) at Hove last Sunday. The stunning fawn overcame some early crowding and then stay on very sweetly to win in 41.79 by 1 1/2 lengths.
Since then to help prepare for a crack at the TV Trophy he has recorded 28.27 for 462 metres at Yarmouth, very pleasing.

Tyler ready to for big time and new connections
Proud Pegs Tyler
This very well bred Jan 12 rrute of a pup,had his first trial at Monmore last night. The very green pup, walked out the traps and was lost at the bends, but still showed massive pace and recorded a 16.15, this is a great run for a pup, who obviously being a College Causeway will be no sprinter.
His full brother Proud Pegs Hero, owned by Peter Band recored 16.18 last week at Monmore, then went on this week to do a 28.87 around Monmore for his first ever 480. This was some run for a complete novice.
I expext Tyler to trial just as well over the 480 next week, so don't miss out on this stunning pup who currently at £4,000 could be a bargain buy.

Daddy and Review set the Gold Cup standard
Daddy Knowsbest
Strategic Review
We had five dogs qualify for the Semi-Finals of the Ladbrokes Gold Cup at Monmore on Monday.
Strategic Review won in style beating kennelmate Lightning Sky by five lengths in 28.10, this was a fantastic run for Review, considering it was his first run back after a tendon injury.
Daddy Knowsbest romped to a eight length victory in a flying 27.98, he overcome a tricky trap 4 draw and after a few strides put his rivals to bed.
Highfire Jazz and Express Giant were 2nd and 3rd in their heat, both our dogs ran on strong but couldnt catch the early paced Eden Star.

Drumcove Lad made it four straight wins when taking the Love the Dogs Sprint Open at Perry Barr. Blasting away from traps and then staying on well to win by 3 lengths in 15.97.

Big weekend ahead
The Coral Champions Stakes Semi Final is big event of the weekend in which the pictured Sidelight runs in the 3rd Semi Final at 9.24pm. With only two qualifiers a good break is essential.
Over at Perry Parr tonight we have a runner in each of their four open races - Drumcove Lad, Lady Sadie, Kinloch Tiger and new recruit Farloe Calamity.
Sunday will see us return to Hove for their lunchtime meeting where Jeffys Scholar, Highfire Bruce, Incitatus and Dixies Craft all take their chance.
Finally Monday which sees the start of the Ladbrokes Gold Cup at Monmore. We are well represented with Proud Barney (Heat 1), Stategic Review, Phoeinix Bolt, Lightning Sky (Heat 2), Kinloch Tiger (Heat 3), Daddy Knowsbest (Heat 4), and Highfire Jazz, Express Giant (Heat 6).
We are also heading to Nottingham on Monday with Drumcove Lad, Cape Impact, Laoises First & Five Alley Queen (Puppy Classic) and Larky Ego.

Double up on tough night
We didn't look to have many live chances as we headed off to Monmore for Thursday nights graded meeting so it was a pleasant surprise to return with two winners.
Ferndale Dollar got us going when this young November 11 bitch got up in the final straight to record her second career win by 1 1/4 lengths in 29.20.
Shiners Princess had suffered big trouble in running recently so the bookmakers price of 10/1 was always over priced. A very fast break but the race to bed in a couple of strides as she showed some superb pace to go on to win by 1 1/2 lengths in 28.69.

Great night of racing ahead on RP Greyhound TV
Julier Collier is set to host tonights action so make sure you all Tweet her @rpgreyhounds , I will retweet any message that include our own Twitter account @Ballymacace
Ballencrieff Lad is probably our best chance of a winner but will need to stay handy around the first two bends, good luck to all connections.
Afew Dollarsmore is Super Hove Stayer
On the supporting card at Hove Afew Dollarsmore added another win to his growing CV.
Dollars missed the kick early on but followed the field closely. After a couple of failed attempts to push through the field he moved up a gear to show a great turn of pace to force his way up the inner and then force himself to the front round the final two bends. Dollars kicked clear off the last bend to win by 1 3/4 lengths by 41.52.
Express Master denied in South coast classic
Express Master finished a brave second last night in the £10,000 Coral Sussex Cup on Hove. Master broke ok but it was Loughteen Bandit who came from from traps like a sprinter to lead into the first bend closley followed by Express Master. Master battled throughout but could never quite get on terms. On the final bend Master pushed again to challenge by Bandit closed the door again to deny our boy by 1/2 length in 29.58.
Finishing runners up in Finals is always tough but congratulations to all the Cahill team.

Farloe Calamity lands at Westview
We have always a great degree of success buying in dogs with races on their car and then improving them and I hope to do the same with Farloe Calamity.
This black and white beautiful bitch is an open race winner at Sheffield over 720 metres this was 2nd to the St Ledger favourite Farloe Tango only 2 weeks ago.
She will win many opens and is running this Friday at Perry Barr.
With her good early pace the 630 trip at Monmore will be ideal and she will run next week in the £5,000 competition at Monmore.
This girl will sell very quickly so if you are interested please call immediately.

New recruits impress in Coventry trials
Dave Yanez caught at couple of our latest recruits at Coventry. Creamery Empire and Incitatus both showed us they will be more nice recruits for the kennel.
Incitatus, owned by myself currently, is a new dog being aimed at the TV trophy and went very well in the trial clocking 29.42 off a poor 5.61 split.
Creamery Empire, owned by Howard Jenkinson, is an A1 Youghal that just went round in 29.61 off a 5.72 split.
Proud reinforces Monmore form
Monmore's graded form stands up anywhere, any dogs running in A2 or above are more than capable of winning open races with a decent share of luck.
Last night Proud Barney followed up his Monmore A2 win by taking the Betfred.com 480 Trophy at Nottingham. Barney headed straight for the rails and stayed glued to it for the whole 480 metres to beat favourite Ballymac Arkle by 2 lengths in 28.90.

Girl on fire
Goa Girl made it back to back wins at Monmore on Monday with another success.
Girl came away from traps well but did well to overcome crowding on the third bend and then take it up off the last bend to go on to win by 3 lengths in 38.66.

Trainers Championship Update - 4th August
The share of the Select Stakes spoils has helped us confirm our in 3rd place as we enter the 8th month of the year.
Conors lands Cov Puppy Open
Phil Steed's Conors Legend recorded his second win since joining us when taking last nights Puppy Open at Coventry.
Conors Legend was quickly into stride and went on to show some great all round pace to take the race by 1 3/4 lengths in 27.38.
The presentation photo shows little ones George Pedly, Harry Allsopp (my nephew having first trip to the dogs) and my youngest Micheal Allsopp.

Walk in the park on debut
David Torjussen's new dog Luminous Walk made a great start to his career with us last night when taking the evenings A3 by 3 lengths.
This October 2013 baby was unraced in Ireland but comes from a smart dam they has produced some quality winners.
Despite the pups inexperience, Walk pinged from traps and was never headed in the 480 metres contest, showing some superb all round pace to finally stop the clock at 28.65. He looks to be a great addition to the team.
