In the Spotlight

All the full time staff were put under the spotlight by our webmaster this morning as we all had to answer a number of questions for the staff profile pages of the website. The staff pages have been very busy since we launched the site so we have tried to expand these pages. Three of the pages have now been refreshed (my own, Dave Pedley and Steve Masters). The questions created some great banter between the team and no doubt the owners will be giving us some stick when you see us. The pages for Paul Anderson and Matthew Webb will be posted in the next couple of days so please keep checking the team pages.

Time for quick one

Scotties Eric was our only winner yesterday as he recorded his 10th career win. A fast break won him the day yesterday as he won in 29.20.

Just the Trick

Borna Trick confirmed our thoughts she is ready for a return to the Open Race scene with a 3 3/4 length win in A3 last night at Monmore in 29.14. With back to back wins on her card she will now run at Nottingham on Monday. Tyanas Boy made is 2 wins from 3 starts when putting in a classy performance in the A2. After showing some early pace he was not put off after getting tangled up in traffic problems on the first corner. He ran on very strong to win in 28.87.

Nottingham Review

Luck was just not on our side on Monday as we had to travel back down the M42 from Nottingham with two second places. Head iton Tyler showed some real pace around the bends only to switch inside Drink Up Zorro on the run to the line. The switch must have cost him a length and he just failed to get up, going down by a head.Tyler should give his new owner a great deal of fun in 2009. Head iton Paddy was returning from a two month lay off and showed us he will be very much a force again in 2009 and he lost out by under a length. The run would have done him the world of good.

Busy Days

Plenty of Open Race runners over the next few days. On Sunday we are taking Vancouver Dylan, Bourne Breezy(pictured), Bookem Danno, Head iton Paddy and Ballymac Bound all to Coventry. Monday will see us at Nottingham with Head iton Tongue, Borna Trick and Head iton Tyler. Tuesday it will be the long drive to Wimbledon to take Cabra Fly who runs on the under card of the Racing Post Juvenile.

Promising Trials

Cabra Fly clocked 27.72 and Centaur Marine 27.90 in promising workouts over 460 metres at Wimbledon yesterday. Over at Coventry new kennel inmate Turar Abit clocked 29.68. Before racing this evening at Monmore Droopys Jervis clocked 28.57 ahead of the Monmore Puppy Derby.

Going like hot cakes

Since launching the website we have have been astonished how many look through the different pages and the blog. We try and add the news as soon as possible. The "Sale" page has been an amazing success as I've sold some super dogs already all of which will help our kennel strength and become even stronger. Included in those who have been sold are Bawna Elsa (Puppy Derby Trial Stake), Rackethall Hero (Open Class Puppy), Head iton Tyler (has won Open over 416 metres at Monmore and runs in a Final tonight) additional to this we have sold a few lovely dogs and bitches to run on the graded scene. Thanks again to all those who have purchased dogs, please keep looking I have a couple of nice prospects on the way.

A bit of a touch

This video is back from 2004 when connections landed a nice gamble at Coventry. The connections of Connors Jo Jo (renamed Micheals Grace) snapped up all the prices available down to 1/2 ! If you listen closely you can hear the bookmakers cheer as he get a serious bump at the first corner.

Tyler Rocking to Nottingham

The David Smith owned Head iton Tyler heads back to Nottingham tomorrow night for the Caffreys Monkey Sprint Final over 305 metres. It is our first Final of the year so fingers crossed for the dog and David. It gives me a great buzz when new owners join us and I'm hoping David has lots of more winners with us over the years ahead.

Breezy Proves Best

No luck in the Trial Stakes this evening. Bourne Breezy proved she is one of the leading stayers at the track as she took a very tough S1 in 38.72. Recondite then made it two wins on bounce when he took the A1 in 28.30.

New Partnerships

Blowing a Treble Gayle

Bawna Gayle, currently for sale, put in another winning show this afternoon to complete back to back wins. She showed some good early pace again to win the A5 in 28.98. Our next winner was Sunrise 29.13. The final part of treble was brought up by another who made the most of a grade drop to win in kennel mate for sale, Ballybough Lady. She won the A7 in 29.26.

Vancouver on a Roll

Vancouver Dylan won his second race on the bounce this evening at Coventry. After stealing a lead round the second bend it took all the dogs courage to hold on from the fast finishing Tyrells Mary to win in 29.53. Brett Time caught trouble in running and could only finish 5th.

Jervis Joins

Loyal owner Ted Megaw has successfully purchased a super new puppy called Droopys Jervis. Jervis, a August 2007 pup bred Droopys Scolari x Classic Wings, will be aimed at the Monmore Puppy Derby after clocking 28.42(+30) at trials this morning. Other highlights included Rackethall Hero 28.81 and Cabra Fly 28.35. The two Westmead Hawks went very well considering it was only there third ever times in the traps. Galtese Seb clocked 15.67 and Galtese Sony 15.85. Mark my words these lads are going to become two very nice dogs. (See Sale Section)

Monday Update

A great way to start the week with a double at Monmore. Bourne Walk won his 14th race when taking the A2 in 28.56. Kiverton Mist then took the very nice race in 28.84(+20). In the evening we headed up the M42 to Nottingham to take Head iton Tyler and Officer Donagh who had be drawn together in the Caffreys Monkey Sprint. Tyler came away very well and was only caught in the last stride and progresses now to next weeks final. Officer Donagh could not get in to the race from his position at the bend.

One hundred and eighty !

Wayne Mardle / Will Adamson's Bookem Danno (pictured) made a storming debut in Open Race company over an extended distance this evening at Coventry. He has been showing signs of staying so we entered him for a 625 Maiden. He simply stormed away from traps and never saw another dog to win by 6 1/4 lengths in an impressive 39.62. It is the partnerships first Open Race Winner.

Fancy a share in a Puppy Derby Trial Stake Winner ?

The Trial Stakes for the upcoming Ladbrokes Puppy Derby started last night at the track. Bettyville Dove finished a brave 5th in the 1st Trial Stake after taking a big bump on the first corner. Bawna Elsa then continued her progress when taking the 3rd Trial Stake. Elsa showed some rapid early pace to lead round and take advantage of Droopys Arshavin's lack of experience at the track to win in 28.41. I have 50% share in Bawna Elsa for sale, given her win in the Trial Stake, quality breeding and potential to improve she could be great buy for someone. See the for Sale section of the website for more details. We also had another two winners during the evening including Bawna Gayle A6 winner in 28.84 and HiHo Harry 28.31 A1 winner.

Ardcroney Paddock Bound

Ardcroney Vieri was retired last night following picking up a gracilus muscle injury. As a winner of 26 open races (12 different distances) she was a credit to her connections and a pleasure to train. She will be recuperating here before she sets off for her new career in the paddocks.

Winners are just Bliss

Getting up in a morning is easy when the winners are flowing but we always try and remember we have to just as hard to keep those winners coming. After a four timer last night we landed a nice hatrick this afternoon. Scotties Eric seemed to relish the fast going and gave the field the slip at the first corner to win the A4 in 28.74. Centaur Bliss (sold off sale page) won her first race for new connections when landing the A8 in 28.80! Our final winner was Borna Trick who won her 5th career win when taking the A3 in 28.73.

Four !!!!!!!!!!!

Our good form continuued last night at Monmore has we landed four winners. First to get on the scoreboard was Highview Honda who won the A4 in 29.14. Our second winner was Teeceejay who won the A7 in 29.55 who landed a few bets for the local punters. The hatrick was brought up by Bourne Walk who won a tough looking A3 in 28.64. Our final winner was Recondite who put in a stunning display to win the A2 in 28.67 by an amazing 6 1/2 lengths. I am personally very pleased for this dog as he has not luck in running for a period of time.

Officer on Parade

A super run from Officer Donagh this evening at Coventry. Running from trap 4 in the Red Rose & Kisses 280, Officer blasted away from the traps to win in 17.10 by 3 & 1/2 lengths. Officer Donagh is currently for sale and I'm sure any new owners would have a load of great fun with the dog.

What a Racket

Rackethall Hero (May 07 Puppy) who is available for sale, clocked a rapid 15.81 first time at Monmore today at the trials session. That is great run for a pup who is serious stayer in the making and who has been doing very little for 8 weeks!!! He powered to the drop backing up his Irish owners comments that he will be Open Class over six bends and if its not he will replace the dog! What an offer !! The pedigree is there to be seen. His dam Rackethall Pride threw Category 1 Finalist Monsoon Jack and Yearmoth track record holder over 659 metres Rackethall Holly. Click on this link to watch the video of his debut race.

Hi Ho Silver

Cohen Silver bounced back to form this afternoon when hanging on my a neck to win her first race since October. Silver has been having some real traffic problems of late but there was no mistakes today as she showed some real early pace to win in 29.28, very pleasing. Tomas Black (For Sale) brought the double up when winning the second A4 on the card in 28.92.

Sale Opportunity

I have just added an opportunity to buy a 50% share in Borna Elsa, a serious prospect for 2009. Please see the "For Sale" page on the website. Also for sale is Tomas Black who won the A4 this afternoon in 28.92.

Open Race Teble

Vancouver Dylan kick started a fantastic night for us at Monmore this evening. Dylan was the dead heated winner of the Atkinson 480, recording a time of 28.45. Our second winner of the evening was Head iton Tyler (Trap 6) who won the Mason 416 in 25.12. Tyler showed some great early dash round the first two bends to build up a healthy lead giving the chasers little chance. Tyler was only recently sold off the website for less than £2,000. If you would like to get involved in owning a dog just have a look at the dogs for sale page. There are a couple of there at the moment I'm sure won win Open Races around the country. Our final Open Race winner was Bourne Breezy (Trap 2) who won the Edwards 630 in 38.03. Despite suffering early crowding she ran on really strong to pick up favourite Coolavanny Pius.

Weekend Open Racing

Plenty of open race action this weekend. Tomorrow at Monmore sees the return of Rev Counter for his first race after a winter break. We have entered him in the race over 416 metres. Other runners at Monmore will be Vancouver Dylan, Head iton Tyler and Bourne Breezy. On Sunday we are off to Coventry with Bourne Cruiser, Farran Kate, Ballymac Bound and Bawna Boy.

A Nifty Double

Nifty Farloe won her 5th race race this afternoon when taking the A2 in 28.41 (going unconfirmed). A super performance from this kennel favourite. Tipperary Dahlia made the afternoon even sweeter when winning the A7 in 29.04. She led round the first bend after showing some nice early pace and never saw another dog.

Thursday, 5 February 2009

Knockout Hatton

Headiton Hatton made a stunning debut in graded A1 company with a stunning win in 28.63. Springing from the traps his sectional was 4.14, leaving his high class opposition trailing early on. His final winning distance was 2 1/2 lengths ahead of kennel mate Coolemount Show.

M40 to Oxford

Cabra Fly will trial before racing at Monmore on Thursday before heading to Oxford with Head iton Tyler for a crack at the Pall Mall. Burnpark Champ had had surgery on his injured tendon and we hope he is back for a crack at the Derby. There were no trials on Monmore today due to the adverse weather conditions.

Arctic Double

The cold weather gripped the kennels and track today like every where else in the country. It is important the dogs are rotated in and out quickly, stay wrapped up and are given extra food to help them keep their body weight up. A nice double for us today kicked off my Gums N Plums (pictured)winning the A3 in 28.90 at a huge 6/1. Great Jess, with over 80 races on her card, brought the double up with a battling win from behind to win the A4 in 28.87.

Sunday Roast

The diet of all the dogs whether an open racer or an A10 grader is of vital importance. We feed the dogs with us the absolute best beef, I have to accept I have to pay a little more for the quality but it is something I insist on. The photograph shows part of the delivery we have received, it fills every freezer I have.
