Young team pouring on pressure

Paul Young sits on top of the Trainers Championship tonight with us sitting in second place. We continue to look for every opportunity and I'm hopeful some of our recent recruits will star in the months again.

I'm very close to agreeing terms to bring another top dog to kennel. The dog will be posted here as always. Last week's signing was sold in just 15 minutes so make sure you keep checking at regular intervals.

Agreement gets just rewards

Mutual Agreement recorded his maiden open race victory last night at Sittingbourne in Heat 1 of their Super Maiden competition. Agreement broke well and showed a nice turn of early pace to get clear on the opening bend. From there on he was not headed to win by 3 lengths in 30.11

Massive turnout for Owners morning

Over 50 owners turned up this morning including new owners Simon Fletcher and family (pictured). Simon recently bought Inaghs Dalcash who recorded the fastest time at the recent Hall Green Sales. We wish Simon all the very best of luck and many great nights with Dalcash. She looks like she will make a very nice stayer.

Saturday stars

Highfire Jazz made it two wins from his last three starts when taking last nights Ladrokes.com 480 at Monmore. Jazz made the most of his trap 6 draw to get a clear run around the first bend and once in front he went away from the field to win by two lengths in 28.42

Down at Crayford, Boherna Bridge enjoyed the step up to 714 metes when taking Heat 6 of the John Smiths St Leger. Bridge had to ride an early bump on the first bend but once he got clear he showed some electric pace to go on to win by three lengths in 45.69.

Worth the wait

We had to wait until the last two races in get among the winners last night however I don't think connections of Shades of Zeta and Ballyhill Lexi will mind.

Shades of Zeta took advantage of a drop to A2 to win with an excellent staying performance. Zeta got up in the shadow of the line to win by 3/4 length in 29.05

Improving bitch Ballyhill Lexi recorded her second win when she took a competitive looking A3 by 3/4 length in 28.79

Woodcock makes major signing

Exocet was sold within 15 minutes of being posted on the blog and sale page last night. Roly, who has had some great times with Ballycowen Daven, will be hoping Exocet can do the same.

Good Luck Roly and thank you everyone for your interest. More dogs will posted when the right ones are available.

Exocet heading to Westview

Through protracted negotiations we have managed to secure a massive signing for us here at Westview Kennels which we believe will be a massive help in our push for the Trainers Championship. Thanks to our 'Main man' in the Emerald Isle, joining us Saturday will be one of the fastest all age dogs in the sport today.

Exocet is by the number one stud dog in the game today 'Head Bound'. He has clocked some of the fastest times seen at race tracks in years.

Exocet clocked a massive 29.29 at Hove for the 515 metres which is the fastest time at Hove for over 5 years. He has gone 10 spots quicker than 'Ballymac Eske' (The Scottish derby winner and a dog who you wouldn’t buy for £50,000) He has also clocked quicker than superstars like 'Teejays Bluehawk'.

He has equalled the track record for the 350 yards at Ireland's premier track - doing 18.41! going 18 spots quicker than the likes of 'Knockglass Billy' (Irish Laurels winner). His time of 18.41 is the fastest time of the year there better than the best sprinters in Ireland or England but this lad is not a sprinter)

He has also clocked a Massive 28.32 at Shelbourne Park for the 525 yards. Make no mistake this dog is the real deal. He has given some of the leading names in racing a running lesson.

Interest in this superstar will be immediate so if you are looking for a serious competition dog please call me tonight. Any genuine interested parties can view the dog at kennels by arrangement.

Price on application.

Empire off the mark

Creamery recorded his first win for owner Howard Jenkinson when taking Heat 2 of the Maiden Competition. Empire had to concede the early lead to favourite Rock Solid however Empire dug deep off the last bend to get up by a head in 30.25. Hopefully this will be the first of many wins for the son of Headbound.

Yorkie on fire

Kennel hand Micheal Reekie partied hard on Saturday after his wedding. I can report there was some serious bad heads come Sunday morning !

Nokes's Scholar stars at Henlow

John Nokes's Jeffys Scholar (pictured) delivered a great result last night at Henlow when taking the first Semi Final of the KAB Henlow Maiden Semi Final.

Scholar came away from traps in rapid style where an early lead is so important. Scholar stretched out very well and the only danger was Lizzie From Cork who stayed on very well but could not get within the 1 3/4 lengths winning margin in 27.76

Blackstone Marco looks to be the one to beat in next weeks Final, however Scholar will be looking to make the most of getting trap 3 once again.

Sales Update

Len Timmins and Keith Inston today snapped up Ronaldo's Bolt off our new Sale page whilst Baz Knight bought a 50% of the newly arrived Ballymac Warrior. If you are interested in the other half share please call today.

Good Luck lads with your new recruits !

Blazing to glory

Chevy Blazer won his second open race for us at Nottingham last night. Blazer made the most of the rails position to show some superb all race over the 480 metre trip to win by 3 1/2 lengths in 28.72. I'm really hoping Blazer can go on from this victory and record many more in 2013.

The Kid strikes again

Farloe thekid added yet another win to his ever improving record at Monmore last night when taking the A2. Kid pinged from traps and flew up the middle of the track to build on an early lead which the competitors which could not match after coming out the first bend. Kid took the race by three lengths over kennel mate Vedfield Solid in 28.85

Away the Girls

It's always a long way from the Midlands to Newcastle however the journey home last night didn't seem quite so bad as returned with an open race double care of a couple of our own girls.

Chauffeur Driven owned by Keith Warner made an impressive debut when pinging from traps to take the Puppy race by a length in 29.21

Sharon Hardy's Droopys Hope made a brilliant return to track when coming from an impossible position to take the Standard in 29.00. A first corner bump looked to have ended Hope's chances but the game bitch chased hard to get up by head.

Express Master was in the wars just again but bravely finished third in 28.56. The 670 metres was to short for Incitatus but will be suited by longer trips in coming weeks.

Normal Service Thursday

Two winners at our home track of Monmore last night which has given all the team a lift after a couple of poor weeks.

Dara McCarthy's Larky Ego took off in the S1 to romp to a huge 5 1/2 length success in a rapid 37.94. Ego showed some great all round pace and stayed on very well. (Picture from Coventry)

The ultra consistent Lightning Sky recorded his 11th career win when taking the evenings A1 by two lengths in 28.26

Who fancies the Warrior ?

This afternoon I purchased for the kennel Ballymac Warrior (Green Heat x She Said No) who caught my eye recently after winning his two latest open races at Perry Barr. This 31kg puppy is only a December 2011.

I have no doubt I can improve this lad a few more lengths and win many more opens with him over the next few years. His next target will be the Puppy heats at Newcastle on Saturday 28th September. As you can see he was advertised on Greyhound Data for £6,000 however I can offer him for sale at a 33% discount of £4,000

Inspection welcome, however as always its first come first served. Call now if interested.

Henlow Maiden Derby

The KAB Maiden Derby started at Henlow last night and as always it proved to be as competitive as always. There is always a couple of dogs that have been aimed particularly at this event.

Jeffreys Scholar qualified from Heat 1 when finished second to the smart looking Smart Nijinsky  who had recorded two A2 wins round the Bedfordshire circuit. The winning time was 28.11. Five Alley Queen continues to make the most of her puppy status which comes to an end of the month by taking the Puppy Open with some superb all round pace to do the local punters a favour when winning by 3/4 length in 28.49

A good morning up at the kennels in which we managed to take a good number of file photos for the blog and social media. You will see most of them as those dogs start to win but I will post a few over the next couple of days.
