Our 'Main man' in Ireland has once again come up trumps and secured us some very exciting young pups for us at Westview Kennels.
As we are all aware top class young pups are making big money (5 figure prices). His instructions are now to try and spot young pups with open race potential at the very early stages before they get too 'dear' in price.
Two young pups that fit this criteria are "Jeffys Brae" & Jeffys Jackson"
They are by Kinloch Brae x Jeffys Brindle and are only Jan 2011 whelps.
"Kinloch Brae" has already produced the likes of "Razldazl Jayfkay" - & Razldazl George" - The 2011 Irish Derby winner as well as "Capoley Ash" (One of the best Marathon runners in the UK)
Their dam "Jeffys Brindle" has produced such open race talent as "Givemesomeluck" -28.40 Swindon - & 28.55 Wimbledon in the Derby.
Here at Westview Kennels we have already have 2 litter comrades - "Joscar" who recorded 29.92 at Coventry in his 1st look at the track. Before he joined us at the kennels he recorded 17.12 in his 1st sprint at Waterford.
"Jeffys Brae" & "Jeffys Jackson" in their 1st ever sprints at Waterford both recorded 16.99 & 17.01. Both these 'raw' pups will be both joining us at the kennels next week. They quite simply could be anything and are very reasonably priced.
Another young pup that we are glad to have acquired is "Mays Tango" - who is a full litter brother to "Valentia Tango".
"Valentia Tango" in his short career at Westview has proved he has top class pace. He recorded a top class 27.40 at Kinsley which is only .20 spots off the track record . He was rated a very unlucky loser in his 1st race at Kinsley last Sunday when he finished 2nd in preparation for the upcoming Gymcrack Puppy championship.
"Mays Tango" in his latest run at Waterford recorded a hugely promising 29.02 for the 525 yards.
"Valentia Tango" recorded 28.94 at Waterford.
He is also by Kinloch brae x Magpie Tango who has already produced the likes of "Mays Milan" - 28.60 Drumbo Park -28.66 Shelbourne Park - "Mays Harvestmoon" (sold for £10,000) 29.91 Notts Rated 129 G.Data - 27.77 Yarmouth
"Mays Tango" like the other 2 young pups falls into the quite simply could be anything category - What owners are buying here is the breeding and what these pups have done already for their age.
The 3 above young pups above are priced accordingly, each at very reasonable money, they wont cost much more than what 10 - 12 month old untried saplings would cost.
These pups are ready to go into full training straight away please phone me straight away as they wont last long without owners at their prices.

Venus on another planet
It great to see Mick Giles's Atouchofvenus step up on his recent win at Monmore to make her open race debut a winning one when taking the Maiden Open at Nottingham. The beautifully bred bitch forced her way clear round the second bend to kick clear to win by 1 1/2 lengths stopping the clock at 28.93.
Back at our home track of Monmore Daleroad Canter was rewarded for his recent consistency when she ran on very well to take the A4 in 28.67.

Coventry turn on the style
We recorded two winners at Coventry on Sunday night. Its great to go racing again just up the road. Peggys Style (Black bitch pictured) won her second race for her connections when taking the Division 2 Stayers race in 29.51 by a neck in a hard fought race. The double came up care of Rusheen Major when the brindle dog took the Division 1 Open in 29.38. I'm sure this will be first of many wins in the dogs career.

Bridge stars on Derby Night
Boherna Bridge gave the kennel a welcome boost last night when taking the William Hill Division A Stayers in front of the Sky cameras on Derby Final Night. Sent off at a huge 16/1 Bridge forced his way through on the second bend and simply galloped all the way to the line to win in 42.34.
Freds Champ was seriously unlucky in the Derby Plate Final as Taylors Cruise interfered with him on the home straight. All of the team were gutted when it was clear he was the best dog in the race.
Many thanks to Dave Yanez for getting the images to use so quickly.
I would like to congratulate Mark Wallis and connections for winning the William Hill Derby with Blonde Snapper.
A1 performances from home team
Vedfield Solid made it back to back wins at Monmore on Thursday night when adding another A1 to his CV, taking the contest in 28.50 by 2 1/2 lengths. With his early pace and wide seed he should continue to be the dog to beat at our home track.
Moving to Friday Rosmult Plover took advantage of a drop to A7 when winning in 29.15. Sams Dee is a dod with a good attitude and he dug deep in the A3 to win by a short head in 29.11.
On Saturday we suffered a number of near misses but also a hatrick of wins. Big Gud took the British Bred Division 2 Open in 28.76. Delonte recorded his first win for his connections when taking the A3 in 28.30. This lad stayed on very sweetly and will doubt improve over an extra two bends. Marazion Magic made it three wins from four starts when taking the A1 in 28.67. Perhaps next week we might see Magic clash with Vedfield Solid, sure to be a great race.

Happy Retirement Martin Burt
I'd like to wish Martin Burt a very happy retirement. Martin is a true legend of the sport and definitely never got the recognition he deserved.
Martin trained some top class dogs years ago including Proud Champ (English Derby Semi Finalist), Conspiracy Seb (Betfair Standard Winner and Monmore legend ) and Elliots Pride (National Sprint Winner). Martin plundered many big prizes in his early days but was never one to talk up his successes. When asked if a photo could be taken of one of his dogs at kennels his reply was "dogs photos should be taken on the wining rostrum only"
Martin has been a regular at Monmore since 1994 after previously working at Cradley, Norton Canes and Perry Barr. From all of the team here I hope he enjoys his retirement and enjoys the time he now with his family and those Koi carp he keeps.

Proud Berry doing well
Proud Berry who suffered a career ending injury last week is in good spirits after his operation. He is now in a cast and has started his recovery. I'd like to thank everyone for their good wishes. I will keep you all informed how Berry is doing in the coming months.
Oxford Double
We recorded a quick fire double at Oxford on Thursday evening. After two difficult runs at Wimbledon Goa Getta showed us what he was all about when leading all the way over 450 metres to take the Maiden in 26.48.
Old boy Brittons Empire showed us he was no back number when taking the sprint by 1 3/4 lengths in 14.83. Empire will be trying to defend his Pall Mall grown in the coming weeks. I was very pleased with both of these performances.

Champ aiming to beat jinx
Freds Champ will head to Wimbledon on Saturday in the hope of breaking this years Final jinx as he takes his chance in the prestigious Derby Plate Final. Champ was very impressive in last Saturdays heat winning in 28.48. Lets hope he can ping out and lead all the way.
In other news I'd like to welcome new owner Dora McCarthy who has bought Shades of Zeta and Stuart Wood who has bought 50% of the other sister Shades of Dasya. Good luck to you both and lets hope your new dogs will be winning very soon.

Tragic news for all
The best dog in the kennel,Proud Berry, tragically broke his hock in a trial this evening. I really feel for his owner John Nokes who was just started to be rewarded with some fantastic performances with the dog. I'm really not sure what I've done wrong this year but I feel like packing the sport up, its so cruel at times. This year we have lost Pots and Pans, Rooneys Lad, Solid Impact and now Proud Berry. Totally gutted.
Fionn goes back to back
The ever improving Bandicoot Fionn made it two wins in a week on Thursday evening when taking the Standard Open over 450 metres at Oxford. Fionn was quickly away from his wide draw and was never headed to win in 26.95.
Back at Monmore Newinn Bolt made his debut a winning one when taking the A8 in 29.17. This lad is very well bred and could be one that flies through the grades with more experience.
Driving Force finished like an absolute train in the S2 when recording very first win over the extended distance. The 38.47 win will go in many notebooks as one to follow.
Drive on Pal was rewarded for his consistency yesterday when he took the afternoons A5 in 29.28.

Coventry Reopens on Sunday
It's great news that Coventry reopens on Sunday. We will be there every week for the open racing on Sundays. Its great to only have to travel 20 minutes and for this reason I'll only be charging £10 per dog travel expenses. There should be some great racing at the track and we should all get behind the new management to show our support. See you there !
Snap up a share in Storm
I have four £1,000 shares available in Goa Storm. This open race dog runs on Thursday night at Oxford as preparation for the Pall Mall. He has massive early pace and has won two of his last three starts. Would give any new owner a great deal for fun. Please call me if interested.

Just Buzzing.....
Broher Buzz recorded his first open race on Sunday for his connections when taking the Maiden over 515 metres at Hove. Buzz was smartly away from traps and then rallied bravely when the highly touted Coolavanny John came to challenge. I was really pleased how the dog showed his heart to win by a neck in 29.99.
Fionn leads team to four timer
Banicoot Fionn got a deserved victory on Saturday when he took the A1 with an all the way victory in 28.26. Big Gud recorded his 4th Monmore win when he took the A4 in 28.66 by three lengths. I think he will find himself up in grade next time out after such a good run. Bawna Major is the kennel win machine at the moment and added yet another win to his CV when he took the A2 in 28.69. This lad started in A7 and is still on the upgrade. Jennas Pony took advantage of a drop to A3 when she lead from the traps to win in 28.64.

Shades of Dasya ready to be snapped up
As Mentioned on the 'blog' earlier we have just taken arrival of five new young pups at Westview Kennels.
We have a huge array of contacts in Ireland. However our main man in Ireland has just secured the services of an outstanding young pup who has only gone 10 spots slower( 1 1/2 lengths slower than "Proud Berry)in its latest trial. "Berry" is rated one of the top pups in the UK at the minute. Our main man has provided us with the likes of The Pall Mall winner - The Midland flat winner - Track record holders etc down through the years. as well as the likes of "Proud Berry" - Burnpark Champ" - more recently - "Atouchofvenus" (28.16 Monmore) "Goa Storm"(winner of his last 2 opens) - 17.90 Notts. He himself has been involved in Derby winners & Oaks winners.
His judgement is unquestioned when it comes to finding top open class talent at reasonable money. His latest acquisiton for us at Westview Kennels is - only a December 2010 whelp. She is by "Scarty lad" (sire of Freds Champ) x Shades of Soul - who herself was an Irish oaks finalist."Shades of Dasya" in her latest trial last Friday showed 'huge potential'. Flying from traps she flew around Waterford to clock a time of 28.88.
This was quite simply a fantastic run for a pup so young."Proud Berry" also trialled at Waterford and he clocked 28.78 there before he joined us at West View. All "Shades of Dasya" can do is improve - with her early pace & her ability to stay 480m strongly (Her dam was also an open class stayer) she is tailor made for all the major puppy competitions. We also have her litter sisters who joined us at the kennels on Wed - "Shades of Kara" & "Shades of Zeta" - as well as "Goa Leprechauns litter sister - "Mays Gemstone"
These are all young pups who will improve greatly once they get racing experience. Any prospective owner is welcome to come down to the kennels to give them a walk this Sunday . They are very reasonably priced. Please phone me for more details.
Diddly Dee
Sams Dee (pictured) did everything right in last nights A4 at Monmore as he romped to an amazing 6 1/2 length win in 28.65. This was the dogs first win with us at Monmore. Skyline Amber proved her well being when staying on very nicely to win by another wide margin of 5 1/2 lengths. I hope her faithful supporters managed to take advantage of a generous 7/2 price. The 39.23 win will surely put her back in S1 against the tracks leading stayers.
Andrew Winters Walkaway Tyson continues to be one of the most consistent dogs at Monmore and once again added another victory to his honours list when taking the A2 in 28.78. This lad has now won 14 races from his 54 starts. What a dog to own !

Ace is firing at Merefield
It's great to hear Ballymac Ace is settling in to his new surroundings at the Merefield Stud. he is now appearing on their website so why not check him out. I really hope he gets a good number of bitches to serve so he can really prove himself.
Big welcome to new owner
I'd like to offer a warm welcome to Neil Brooke who has purchased a 1/4 share in the rapidly improving bitch Dixies Craft. We do still have one 1/4 share available, please call if interested.
Loyal owners John Turley and Dave Partridge have bought the interesting Irish talent Hidden Trend.
Five new dogs arrived at kennels this morning priced to suit all pockets, more details to follow.

Home Team on Fire
The dogs are bouncing round the kennels at the moment and it was no surprise we managed to hit the target five times last night.
Vedfield Solid took the kennel bragging rights when he beat Bandicoot Fionn in the A1. It was a great run from Solid who took the contest in 28.70. Jason Hawk recorded his first open race win over six bends when looking very classy winning by two lengths in 38.35. Bawna Major put the A3 result to bed within the first three strides as he lead all the way to win by a huge 6 1/4 lengths in 28.56. Doopys Gone West got just reward for his recent consistancy when he took the 416 open race in 24.95. This lad loves this sort of trip and when he traps he is difficult dog to beat. Paidis Peata made her debut over six bends a winning one when she took the S4 in 39.44. This bitch really stayed on well off the last bend when under pressure, it was a great effort.

Derby dream ends in Round 2
Sadly our dream of winning the biggest prize of all the English Derby ended on Friday night when both our contenders were both eliminated. Freds Champ looked like he would qualify until being ran out of a qualifying place. Goa Getta could never get on terms in Heat 7 and ended being unplaced. Both these dogs will win many races in the future.

Storming Night
You know when you head to Hove you will always be racing against some of the best dogs in the country on a great galloping track. So to return with two winners on the van we were all over the moon.
Proud Berry continued his unbeaten record when he took the Puppy Open in 30.08. Berry over came a very tricky trap 5 draw to ping out and lead all the way. This dog stays very well so I was very confident in victory as soon as he came out of the second bend.
Goa Storm recorded his first win for us when he took the following open race in 16.46. This early pace dog should win many more races in his career and will stay further than the two bends in this race.
Back at Monmore smart staying prospect Mays Stopgoback took her first race when staying on strongly to take the A7 in 29.35 by 1 1/4 lengths.

Peg to retire to Paddocks
Kennel sweetheart Daughter of Peg has been retired, drawing to close a magnificent career. The daughter of Ballymac Maeve x Ballymac Peg contested 81 races wining 22. She has been a standing dish on the open race circuit since 2010 and has been a pleasure to train for Paul Scott and then the Will Adamson syndicate.
The bitch has won races at Monmore, Belle Vue, Romford and Oxford. She will now head to the paddocks to be mated and being off such a wonderful dam line including Dons Pride her pups will be very much in demand. It would be a great honour to train some of her off spring in the future.
