New Investments continue

For those who are regulars at kennels you have seen I've been re-investing the our facilities. The kennel block has received an attractive coat of paint, fences have been replaced all round the facility whilst the expansion continues to go well at the rear and side of the kennels.

Another big investment is a new 250 metre gallop. The gallop has had 120 tonne of top soil, sand mix, grass seeded and an inbuilt watering system. We can't wait to get using it.

Mondays is just A1

Lively Mondays proved to be our only winner on Saturday night at Monmore. He was quickly in to stride and had to fight off the challengle of Proud Pegs Peril to win in 28.58.

Warm welcome to Lee Spackman

I'd like to offer a warm welcome to new owner Lee Spackman. Lee has kindly sent me Buzz Doc (Blue dog above) who reached the 2011 Arc Final and Millridge Sonic (Black dog above)who has an open race win at Romford on his card. Lets the hope change of scenery benefits both dogs and I can get them winning again very soon.

May the Force be with us

Gforce Direct(pictured) and Curra King combined on Friday to give us a Friday double at Monmore. Gforce recorded his first win since January when he took the A3 in 28.45 by a convincing 3 lengths. This will do the dogs confidence the world of good and I'm sure he can win again soon. Curra King didn't let the step up to A4 stop him winning again as he stuck to his task will to win in 28.50.

Three tracks......three winners

Daughter of Peg ended a short run without a win last night when she took the Stadium Oxford Standard over 400 metres. He pinged out from Trap 4 to leave all to way to win in 27.00 by 3 lengths. Freds Champ made it back to back open race wins at Belle Vue when taking the C &T Bookmakers Open in 27.50. Back at Monmore Mahogany Bolt recorded a deserved win for connections when he won the A2 in 28.55.

Skys the limit for Hawk

Maireads Hawk gave our armchair fans and connections a great night when taking the Coral Puppy Trophy live on Sky TV tonight. Hawk showed some amazing early pace to lead to the way and in doing so took some highly touted scalps. The 29.84 win marks this lad as a major contender for puppy competitions over coming months. Borna Jessica was unplaced in the Bitches Final.

It was great to be among the winners at Monmore on Friday where we recorded two winners. Curra King was first to hit when he took the A5 in 29.04 by a convincing 2 lengths. Direct Angie got a deserved win for some consistant performances when she won the A7 in 29.34.

Hawk & Jessica progress to Sky Finals

Maireads Hawk showed the promise we bought him for as he recorded the fastest time of the Puppy Competition at Hove last night to book a place in Tuesdays Final live on Sky. Quickly into stride he looked like a serious prospect as he strode out to win in 29.60. Borna Jessica will be a live contender for the Ladies Final on the same Sky card as she led all the way to win in 29.87 over the 515 metre trip.

Coral Puppy Trophy: 1 Droopys Ulick, 2 Maireads Hawk, 3 Farloe Kraven, 4 Farloe Ironman, 5 Fabulous Affair (w), 6 Farloe Mysterio (w).
Coral Ladies Trophy: 1 Little Flame, 2 Spicy Lass, 3 Tenters Bell (m), 4 Borna Jessica (m), 5 Darfin Katie (w), 6 Bush Whitney (w).
Back at Monmore Fayboyz Romeo got a deserved win in the A1 when taking the contest by 1 3/4 lengths. The 28.22 win just shows how quick this lad can go when he gets a clear run.

Sky Double for Fionn and Champ

Bandiccot Fionn set a new track record at Kinsley last night when making all in the Puppy race live on Sky Sports. Fionn simply pinged from traps to lead all the way to take the contest in 27.37. Freds Champ made up for his disappointment in the Sunderland classic when he ran out an impressive 27.36 win in what looked a trappy contest on paper. Daughter of Peg ran her heart out to finish third in the Bitches races whilst our superstar Head Iton Jason could only finish 4th. I decided to give me a well deserved rest for a few weeks and we can bring him back fresh ready for a Autumn campaign.

Bawna proves the point at Monmore

Bawna Antarctic made it career win number three this afternoon when he showed some nice all round pace to take the A5 contest in 29.18. The winners are tough to come by at the moment at Monmore lets hope we have a few ping from traps on Thursday.

Weekly Round Up

Our web man has been away for a few days at the Open Championship so updates will now be back as normal. Since last weekend Skyline Amber qualified for the Dual Distance Final at Nottingham when finishing second in 42.59.

We had a hatrick of wins at Monmore on Thursday night with Daleroad Canter taking advantage of the drop to A4, Fatboyz Roxy winning her first race at Monmore which was a tough A3 and Derrynaflan taking the A1 in a rapid 28.28.

On a fantastic night of racing at Sunderland Head Iton Jason made it win number 12 for 2011 when he took the Stayers Event in 39.62. Early traffic problems ended the hopes of Ballymac Park and Bandiccot Fionn in the Puppy Plate but both of these lads will have plenty of good races in them.

We were also at Hove last night where Borna Jessica finished 2nd in a Ladies Trial Stake and Fifis Whiteseox missed on on qualifying for the 2nd round of the Sussex Cup.

Disappointing Sunderland Return

It can only be described as a very mixed night for the kennel after a number of disappointments. It didn't start well when Head Iton Jason recieved a hefty bump on the first corner to end his chances in the Grand Prix. Daughter of Peg, Freds Champ and Brittons Empire all found traffic problems in the Classic which led to them all being sadly eliminated.

The Puppy Plate was the only highlight where debutant Bandicoot Fionn took heat 2 in a very rapid 27.56. This lad showed some awesome early pace that will surely win him plenty of races. He will be joined in the Final by Ballymac Park who just failed to catch Lostrigg Leader in 27.59. Ballycasey Girl failed to qualify after a slow start.

£3,000 Williamhill.com Puppy Plate Final Draw: 1 Skywalker Teddy, 2 Ballymac Park (m), 3 Bandicoot Fion (m), 4 Droopys Maxwell (m), 5 Lostrigg Leader (w), 6 Boots For Gold (w)

Fifis Rocket got a real rough ride in the Sprint as he was baulked on both corners of his race. He has plenty more good nights to come.

Williamhill.com Semi Final Night

It's a fantastic night of racing today at Sunderland. It has everything you could ever want, speed, stayers, pups, it's all there if you can handle the drive north.

In the Williamhill.com Grand Prix Head Iton Jason will be hoping to seal a place in yet another big Final. With only two qualifying places in each Semi Final I'm sure qualifying will be tough. He meets old rival Anfi Gem and local stayer Nyla Fantasy. Should be a great race.

In the Williamhill.com Semi Finals Daughter of Peg will need to do everything right to turn over Westmead Guru. In the other final Semi Final both Brittons Empire and Freds Champ both have live chances. Freds Champ was napped by Jonathan Kay in the Racing Post.

The Williamhill.com Puppy Plate will see the debut of Bandicoot Fionn. Fionn clocked 28.38 at Monmore and 27.38 at Sunderland. Whilst I'm sure he is a nice pup he is taking on pups with seriously a lot more experience. Ballymac Park could run well in Heat 1 if avoiding trouble early whilst Ballycasey Girl will need to run well to get close to the highly rated Skywalker Teddy.

Finally Fifis Rocket has his favourite Trap 6 in the Williamhill.com Flyer and I'm expecting a big run. Nice to see Jimmy Lollie back in action in Heat 2.

At Monmore Ballymac Celia, So Larry and Ard Blossom are all in open race action with Celia looking the best of our chances if she breaks.

Dancing on a Thursday

Are We Dancers made the most of a drop in grade as he dug deep to take last nights A2 in 28.90. This was his 5th win here at Monmore for us. Bawna Antarctic recorded his second career win when he took the A5 in 29.48.

Ten Dollars More to be retired

It has been decided Ten Dollars More will be retired. Whilst he will make a full recovery his loving owners have decided he has given them a fantastic amount of fun and he can enjoy life on a comfy sofa. Dollars won 13 of his 46 races winning at six different tracks. His crowning moment was probably when he took the Summer Class Stayers Classic at Monmore. He was a pleasure to train and a real professional. Happy retirement old friend.

Romeo denied in Notts Final

Fatboyz Romeo just was just denied in last nights dual distance Final at Nottingham. He ran his heart out to finish second to the highly rated Jordan Light who took the final in 30.20.

Win 15 for Lass

Bookem Lass (pictured) recorded her 15th career win at Monmore last night when taking the S2 in 37.95. She has been a brilliant servant to the kennels and a pleasure to train through out her career.

Mixed Fortunes up North

A night of mixed fortunes for us up at Sunderland last night. The night started well when Head Iton Jason (pictured) took Heat 1 of the Grand Prix in 39.96. Jason has now won an amazing 7 races on the bounce. Also in the Grand Prix Fatboyz Slim just failed to qualify despite being 10 lengths a drift on the opening turn. He was very unlucky.

In the Classic we managed three qualifiers in some very hot races. Freds Champ was 2nd , Daughter of Peg  3rd , whilst Brittons Empire caught the eye with a good second place. Sadly the tweeting Ballymac Ace and Fifis Rocket were both eliminated.

DRAWS:

GRAND PRIX:

First semi-final: 1 Melview Ace, 2 Anfi Gem, 3 Raving Black, 4 Head Iton Jason, 5 Nyla Fantasy, 6 Ballymac Xavi (m).

Sunderland Bound

We are heading to Sunderland this evening hoping to have a real crack at two of the biggest competitions of the year sponsored by Williamhill.com. In the Grand Prix over 640 metres we have Head Iton Jason and Fatboyz Slim. Whilst in the Classic we have our Pall Mall champions Brittons Empire and Ballymac Ace but I'm sure Fifis Rocket, Freds Champ and Daughter of Peg will try and ensure they catch the headlines. Good luck to all connections.

Week end round up

Daleroad Canter recorded his 2nd Monmore win on Thursday when he broke his A6 duck with a 28.69 win. Borna Jessica recorded the fastest time of the night when she took the A1 in 28.45. Jessica went off at a massive 8/1 in the five dog contest.

Tullna Rose, Skyline Amber and So Larry all ran well at Perry Barr on Friday night without passing the post in front.

Dollars is home

Ten Dollars More is back at kennels after suffering a serious injury at Oxford on Tuesday. Dollars in now in a cast and seems to be comfortable. Injuries are always the worse things to deal with in our sport, tracks continue to work hard to make the tracks as safe as possible but unfortunately the odd injury will still occur.
