Most of our new Ballymac pups will trial tomorrow at Monmore. This will their first look at the big Monmore circuit. All will be added to the sale page. Please be aware prices will change pending trial times. Any prospective buyers are welcome at the track to watch the pups trial.

Sunset Monday

Home bred pups Dadleys Sunset was our only winner on a tough looking BAGS card this afternoon at Monmore. Quickly away from traps she recorded a very pleasing 29.10 winning by 3 1/2 lengths.

It's ladies night

We will have three runners in this years English Oaks at Wimbledon on Tuesday. New recruit Droopys Willow (for sale) will be joined by Cabra Fly(pictured) and Midlands Oaks winner Little Jig. Other runners for this week will consist of Liscahane Ben, Swift Tinto and Droopys Edgar at Nottingham on Monday and Officer Donagh and Centaur Marine at Hall Green on Tuesday. Congratulations to Anthony Cameron who had two second round Comerford stake winners at Shelbourne Park last night care of Fatboyz Tyson and Fatboyz Georgie.

Ballymac Stars

Ballymac Rumble (pictured) lead the kennel to a Monmore 4-timer last night including three open race wins. Rumble recorded 28.69 (-20) when taking the Mimosa Puppy 480. With two wins from four starts this a dog to follow for 2010. Hollywood Idol recorded his 4th open race success when winning the Musclewood 480 in 28.81 (-20). The performance of the night must have been Ballymac Ace who scorched round in 28.78 (-40) on a very wet track. 3 wins and a second from 4 starts marks him down as a potential star for the new year. Our final winner of the evening was Murrman who took the A4 in 29.49. On another note someone send me this breeding to look at, looks very well bred to me ;-)

Allstar out

Sadly Centaur Allstar did not qualify for the Final of the SuperPaws at Poole last night as he could only finish 4th behind 16/1 shot Lifes Burble in the Semi Final.

Coventry Double

An open race double for us this evening. Indigo King made it two wins in a week with a two length win in 29.66 whilst Rackethall Hero recorded the fastest time of the night in 29.28. Sadly we drew a blank at Perry Barr with Officer Donagh coming closest by finishing second.

Breezy Friday

Bourne Breezy took this afternoons S2 at Monmore when recording a 3 1/2 length win in 38.59. This was her 25th win from 95 starts, a super strike from from of our kennel personalities.

Busy Bees

Should be a busy day tomorrow with runners at Monmore, Perry Barr and also Coventry and thats on top of trials at Wimbledon. Coventry will see Rackethall Hero and Indigo King in action whilst at Perry Barr we have Officer Donagh, Broad World, Fatboyz Rocky, Fabulous Voyage and Bosscroker. On Saturday we will be sending Selecta Earl, Hollywood Idol, Ballymac Rumble, Ballymac Ace and Townhill Widtink to Monmore. At the other end of the country Centaur Allstar has a small matter of the Jem SuperPaws Semi Final at Poole to contest.

Indigo is King of Coventry

Indigo King recorded his 11th win of 2009 when taking the Brandon 480 Division A in 29.38. The Steve Dawes dog has been a revelation for us this this and has played a key part in our success in 2009.

Going like hot cakes

As advised two of the Ballymac pups pups went within a couple of hours of going on the site. If you do fancy one for yourself or your syndicate please ensure you call me on the normal number to avoid disappointment. I am well aware it's a hard at this time of year and I would be happy to talk to you about a price if it helps.

Centaur Allstar though

Centaur Allstar (pictured) finished second in the first round of Jem Racing Super Paws Competition at Poole. A slow start probably cost him the chance of winning the race but he will benefit from the run around Poole and should be spot on for next weeks Semi Final. Micks Gingers was sadly eliminated.

Owner to watch in 2010

Anthony Cameron's Fatboyz-Nodrog-Syndicate are one of my tips to follow for 2010. Anthony seems to have a great eye for a dog and has already had a number of high profile of dogs on both sides of the Irish Sea. He has recently sent me Fatboyz Gracie and Fatboyz Rocky to train. Both have alread recorded their first wins. Anthony currently owns Fatboyz Tyson in Ireland who is through to the 2nd round of the Comerford Puppy Stakes at Shelbourne Park in Dublin. Good Luck again this week ! He also owns a number of well bred pups and I'm hoping he may send us a few to train to work through the grades at Monmore before starting their Open Race career.

Oaks Trials

We will be taking four of our leading bitches to Wimbledon on Friday for trials ahead of the Oaks. Cabra Fly, Little Jig, Bawna Elsa will be joined by new intake Droopys Willow.

Pontoon for Officer Donagh

Officer Donagh recorded his 21st win of 2009 when taking this evenings Hall Green Sprint Trophy in 15.60. Officer was away and clear on the first corner to record a smooth 2 1/4 length win.

Nottingham Hatrick

A hatrick of wins for us last night at Nottingham and also two hard luck stories. Ballymac Ace recorded his second win from three starts when taking the Betfred Puppy Sprint in 17.94. The fast improving Swift Tinto then took Heat 1 of the Maiden competition when staying on strong to win in 30.73 over 500 metres. Inshaala and Fatboyz Gracie had more traffic problems than the M5/M6 junction at Wednesbury and both finished unplaced. Make my word these two are well worth following, they are just not getting any luck in running at the moment. Our third winner of the evening was Fatboyz Rocky who landed his first win when taking the Betfred Sprint in 18.24.

Back on duty

Thankfully Assistant Trainer Paul Anderson has returned to kennels in the last week as he continues to progress with his foot injury. Fingers crossed the cast will be coming off on Monday. Great to have the big fella back.

Ups and Downs

A disappointing evening for us last night at Coventry with no winners. It was however business as usual this morning as we prepared our runners for the evening meeting at Monmore. Selecta Earl looks to be another promising recruit for the kennel and he stormed to a debut win in the Puppy Open in 28.70. A number of dogs seemed to have the same traffic problems as Friday night however Fabulous Voyage made it two wins on the bounce when taking the staying open race in 38.73. Finally Ballymac Bound took the last race of the evening (A5) in 28.90.

Hatrick Heros

A good afternoon for the grading team yesterday as they brought home a hatrick of wins. Our first winner was Highview Honda that took the opening A3 in 28.77. Moscow Duke is rising through the grades, starting in A9 he recorded a win in A5 yesterday in 28.88, staying on very strongly. Our final winner was Dromanu Lulu (pictured) who was winning her first race in an A7 in 29.04.

Friday, 20 November 2009

Sonny side up

Galtee Sonny made it 2 wins from 2 starts when taking last nights A2 in 28.91. He has now won 4 of his 10 starts since joining us as a pup. We also managed to take the opening race on the card which was A8 care of home bred Dadleys Storm in 29.82.

One eye on the weekend

Plenty of runners for us over the next few days. On Friday it will be Coventry with Ballymac Rumble, Officer Donagh, Hollywood Idol and Rackethall Hero. Monmore's Saturday card will see us take Kurious Incident, Selecta Earl, Micks Ginger and Centaur Allstar.

Who's the Boss

Bosscroker (pictured) recorded his second win for connections last night when winning the Swindon 509'er by a neck in 30.19. Whilst Indigo King finished only 5th the finishing position didn't really show how well he ran given the bump he got on the first corner.

In the purple

I have been offered two young super bitches for sale by one of my best breeders in Ireland. They are named Bawna Princess and Bawna Rachelle both weighing 60 lbs. They are bred Hondo Black x Riverside Trixie ( dam of Boherduff Monti - track record holder Yarmouth and winner of 21 of his 46 open races). They are September 2008 and could really be anything. Reared from 13 weeks by Peter Dunphy of the "Bawna" prefix these pups come from the same rearer as Bawna Boy, Bawna Elsa and Bawna Gayle. Rachelle clocked 17.01 at Clonmel second time from the boxes whilst Princess clocked 17.04. Princess is £1,750 Rachelle is £2,000. I'm expecting to sell this pair very quickly, if interested please call to avoid disappointment. They will be added to the for sale page shortly.

Sky Double

Two winners for us this evening in front of the Sky camera's. Officer Donagh (pictured) was first to oblige when taking the Windsor Food Sprint in 16.90. Another fantastic performance by the dog who just loves to race. This was his 5th win on the bounce. Sadly a bad bump ended Ballymac Ace chance in the unraced Final however he still finished third and will be better for the experience. He is very much one to follow. Fatboyz Gracie had similar luck in running. Our second winner came care of Little Jig who landed the bitches race in 29.56.

Mince Pie Magic

I will be donning my chefs hat in December to cook my legendary mice pies for a special owners morning on the 20th December. Mince pies and a glass of something warm will be waiting for all owners on the last Sunday before Christmas. Why not put a date in your diary and come and give you dog a nice morning walk and treat yourself to a mince pie. It would be great to see as many owners as possible and have a big turnout. I'll try and book our webmaster to come and record the day with his camera.

Promising Pups

I have had a number of owners ask me why I appear to be selling less dogs at the moment. The main reason is that I have twelve pups arriving in the kennels to be trained and I just don't have any more room. Sadly all are already sold. Eddie McCole is schooling all the pups in Ireland and after few trips to the schooling track they are now all going well at Clonmel. There is bitch in each litter that is standing out at this stage. The two litters are bred Westmead Hawk x Borna Fence & Ballymac Bull x Ashville Katie. Fingers crossed !

College Garth Kennels

I must say a big thank you to all the staff at College Garth Kennels who are supplementing our established rehoming at Monmore by taking the odd dog when they have the space available. So far they have rehomed Farran Kate, Scotties Eric and Bourne Cruiser. Many thanks.

Friday Night Out

Coventry have transferred their Open Race programme to a Friday night on the run up to Christmas. We will have four runners there this week including Ballymac Rumble, Officer Donagh, Rackethall Hero and Hollywood Idol. Why not book a table and treat yourself.

Motorway Magic

Plenty of time of the road again this week with trips to Nottingham tonight, Doncaster tomorrow and Swindon Wednesday. Tomorrows Sky card at Doncaster looks a cracker. Lets hope Little Jig, Fatboyz Gracie, Officer Donagh and Ballymac Ace run well in front of the cameras. Make sure you cheer on the dogs on the TV. Wednesday will see us take Indigo King and Bosscroker to Swindon.

Edgar Pleases

Droopys Edgar really got the eye at Monmore this afternoon when recording an impressive 15.31 first time around his new home track. He looks to be lovely addition to the team.

Sunday, 15 November 2009

Off Target

Sadly Saturday night did not turn out as we hoped for, with a few of their dogs running below their best. In the Puppy Oaks Final at Wimbledon Kurious Incident was 3rd after Shaws Dilemma slipped the field to win well. Fatboyz Gracie finished a well beaten second at Coventry in the Maiden Final. The lack of a winner continued at Monmore will us failing to hit the target there also. Nights like this happen in our sports and its just a case a keep working hard. We will up at Nottingham tomorrow with Ballymac Rumble.

Windy Friday

Broad World (pictured) recorded here 6th Monmore career win from 18 starts this afternoon when taking the A3 in 28.72. She is proving to be a nice little money spinner for her connections.

Racing Post Tables

I have reproduced this Fridays tables from the Racing Post to keep you all informed. In the Trainers Championship we are in 6th position. 11 pts behind 5th and 32 pts ahead of 7th. Officer Donagh is showing in 2nd place on the leading Open Race winners. However looking at Greyhound Data it shows Officer with 20 wins and Jimmy Lollie with 19 ! Finally Rackethall Heros's run at Coventry on 6th November earned him a rating of 101 in Peter Meldrums standard distance ratings. Only All England Cup Final Boherna Best was rated higher.

A Flyer of a double

Snugfit Flyer made it 2 wins from 3 starts last night when taking the A1 in 28.60. This was quickly followed up with the home bred Dadleys Sunset taking the closing A9 in 29.45. She showed early pace and appeared to stay on well.

Monmore Opens

As always we will be well represented in the Open Races at our home track of Monmore on Saturday. Bosscroker, Fatboyz Rocky and Centaur Allstar will run in the races over 480 metres, Micks Ginger 416 metres and Rackethall Hero over 630 metres.

Jervis Returns

I'm pleased to inform our readers that Droopys Jervis has returned to the kennels after being schooled over hurdles. At this stage it's hard to say whether he will produce the same form over the sticks but it could be exciting. Jervis's owner Mr Ted Megaw has also kindly sent me Droopys Edgar to train. This well bred January 2008 dog clocked 28.74 on his first look at Shelbourne Park and lets hope he settles in well with us and turns into a nice dog for one of my most loyal ownes.

Hare stops play

Sadly last nights racing did not take place at Coventry as they have problems with the hare system. The card on Friday has also been abandoned. Fingers crossed last nights Final featuring Fatboyz Gracie will be run on Saturday. Saturday will also see us contest the Puppy Oaks Final with Kurious Incident. It would be great to see her lead around that first corner.

Tuesday, 10 November 2009

Birthday Double

You can't beat a couple of winners on your birthday. As I celebrated my 21st yet again the lads reported Officer Donagh recorded his 20th win of the campaign at Hall Green when winning in 15.60. Up at Doncaster new recruit Ballymac Ace took Heat 1 of the College Causeway & Killahan Phanter At Stud Unraced Puppy Stake when beating the highly rated Farloe Buzz by a neck in 29.99. Now that's Birthday news.

Open Plans

Another busy week for week as we try and maintain our 6th place in the Trainers Championship. Tomorrow sees Officer Donagh at Hall Green bidding for his 20th win of the season. Wednesday will see Ballymac Ace debut at Doncaster whilst Fatboyz Gracie takes her chance in the Final at Coventry. Thursday will see the return of Cabra Fly (pictured) and Bawna Elsa in the Northern Oaks at Belle Vue. Fingers crossed for a good week.

Seb Strikes

Galtee Seb proved to be our only winner on a frustrating afternoon of racing at Monmore. Seb had to dig deep to get up in the last stride to take the S3 contest in 39.03.

Tralee Novice Winner for Sale

I have been offered a super looking pup called Carrigeen Ted. He is May 2008 so would be able to contest all the Puppys races in UK for a number of months. This lad is 34kg and looked an ideal recruit for our kennel when winning his one and only race on 31st October in a rapid 28.99 at the Kingdom Stadium, Tralee. The asking price of £6,000 looks reasonable, pups clocking this time first race were three times the price two years ago. If interested please call me as this dog will not be leaving his Kerry kennel until an owner is recruited.

Saturday, 7 November 2009

The Allstar Four

Centaur Allstar(pictured) scorched round Monmore this evening to win in a very rapid 27.89. The 7 1/2 length win was the highlight of a super night racing at our contracted track. There was also wins for Recondite (A2) 28.60, Bawna Gayle (A3) 28.53 and Fabulous Voyage (S2) 38.02.

Coventry Treble

A super treble for the team last night at Coventry. It was great for Galtee Sonny to win an Open at the first attempt. The 2 1/2 length win in 30.02 marked him down as one to follow at the track. Officer Donagh then made it 2 wins in 4 days when taking the Division A Sprint in 16.90. Our final winner of night came care of Rackethall Hero won landed the Division B 480 in 29.32. All three of these dogs were sold off our for sale page. Also on the card Little Jig was 2nd, Moyar Panda 4th and Indigo King 2nd.

Puppy Oaks Final Bound

Kurious Incident reached the Final of the Puppy Oaks at Wimbledon this evenng after finishing second to the highly rated Forest May in 28.09. This will be her second major Final since joining us and it's hard to belive she has just six races on her card. Sadly Inshaarla was elimated after finishing 5th.

Friday, 6 November 2009

Widtink strikes for new connections

Townhill Widtink gave his new owner Phil Stead an instant payback when running away with last nights A1 at Monmore by 3 1/2 lengths. Despite missing the early break he stayed on well to take the contest in 28.48.

Oh Gracie !

Fatboyz Gracie recorded her first UK win when landing Heat 3 of the Autumn Midi Stayers Competition at Coventry on Wednesday in 40.06. Fingers crossed this will be the first of many wins.
