Ballymac Ace recorded a rapid 27.72 over 460 metres before racing at Wimbledon this evening. To put that time into perspective Derby Favourite Eye on the Storm was only 18 spots quicker !
Little Jig made the Final of the Category One English Oaks Final at Wimbledon this evening when finishing a brave third behind Shaws Dilemma. There was plenty of trouble in race on the first corner but as always she battled to the line to ensure a prized place in next weeks Final live on Sky. Congratulations to her owners, well deserved.
I can report a successful night from Nottingham tonight with both Officer Donagh and Centaur Allstar both qualifying for the 2nd round of the National Sprint. Officer Donagh won heat 4 in 18.10 by three lengths whilst Centaur Allstar finished third behind Rotar Wing and Jimmy Lollie.
Ballymac Ace owned by long standing owner Ted Megaw will trial before racing tomorrow at Wimbledon in view of potentially running in the puppy race on Sky the following week. Ace has shown enormous potential already winning three of his four starts against some very highly touted pups. I never under value the investment owners put into these type of dogs and sending them to me to be trained.
We all hoping for a clear run in tomorrow night Category 1 Oaks Semi-Final tomorrow at Wimbledon with Little Jig. She had been a model of consistency and it would be very deserving if she reached the big Final on Sky. Closer to home at Hall Green we have entered Broad World, Galtee Seb, Droopys Edgar (debut), Fabulous Voyage and Centaur Marine. On Wednesday we will head to Coventry with Selecta Earl and Inshaarla.
Micks Ginger (pictured) took heat 3 of the Ladbrokes Christmas Festival 416 this afternoon in 24.64 and has drawn trap 1 in Fridays Final. He will be joined in the Final by Fatboyz Rocky who finished just a length behind him and again I'd have no complaints with trap 6 in the Final. Both will need to be on top form to beat Cuddles Corner who was the fastest winners today in 24.52. Sadly no luck in the 480 competition with Hollywood Idol and Rackethall Hero both being eliminated. Better news in the bitch competition as Fatboyz Gracie finished second behind the highly rated Droopys Quinta and has drawn the red box in the Final. It would be great to see Gracie come away and make the turn in front. On the graded scene Bethanys Boys clocked a rapid 28.60 to follow up last weeks win in the A4 by six lengths.
