Housekeeping

A little house keeping to catch up on.
On Saturday Celtic Ranger won his second race from only three starts. The son of Mind The Net clocked 29.22 in A5 for a cosy 4 3/4L win. On the same card Deathrow Dave appreciated the graders leniency of dropping him from A5 to A6 and finally this A7 which he took in 29.45.

Monday was doubles day as well courtesy of Slaneyside Goldi, she won her A4 by the minimum margin in 29.24 and has the impressive recent form figures of 2-1-3-2-1-2-3-1
Torque Blazer is not far behind Goldi now either and he too won on Monday, an A4 by 1L in 28.93 and can show off figures of 2-1-3-1-1-5-1 in his last seven races.

Shovel It On kept the flag flying for us on Tuesday, she won the A7 comfortably by 2 1/4L in 29.40

A double double

A nice start to the week with a brace on Monday and the same on Tuesday.
First on the rostrum was Pennys Gatsby after his Nk win in A3 class, he is finding it difficult to break through the A2 glass ceiling but this slightly lower grade is a happy hunting ground.
Next came Moanteen Golden. She had graded in pretty high in A3 and found it tough, the daughter of Kinloch Brae went A4 then A5 until she found the win but this A4 victory means she is really finding her feet now and she should acquit herself well in higher grade.

The second double came Tuesday courtesy of Funny Eyes and No Naughty Names.
Funny Eyes has had a bit of a drought since that January win but bounced back in good style admittedly avoiding trouble behind she strode on for a 4 1/2L win in 29.64.
No Naughty Names won his A5 by 1/2L and clearly learned plenty after his debut last week, more to come from this Oct 16' pup.

Four!

One winner on Monday and a three timer on Tuesday is not a bad way to start the week.
Notorious Rhys was first up and has now made it four wins from her last eight races with a narrow victory in A3.
Snooty Maguire gained his first win after only three starts with a 1 1/2L A9 win in 29.52. Moanteen Golden repeated the dose, after debuting in A3 she was dropped to A4 and then to A5 but hit the bullseye at the third attempt with a 2L win in 29.17 (more wins to come!)
Finally Smokestack Vicki was quickly into stride and set up a race winning advantage to clock 29.62 in her A6.

Round up

Plenty of winners to document from West View Kennels in the past week or so. Touch Black was having his third start for us and comfortably landed the A9 by 2L in 29.76 last Friday. On the same card Slaneyside Goldi won her a5 by a neck in 29.33 closely followed by Coolagown Pretty, again in A5 she supplemented the previous weeks S2 win with a near 2L success in 29.15.
Proud Mike was our next Gold, a 1 1/4L win in A3 when leading all the way to score in 28.72 for a heat of the Owners Bonus Series.
Last Monday, Dainty Hunter was QAw,ALed when prevailing by 1/2L in A3 and at huge odds of 8/1.
Large Shilling had recently returned to form with an A5 win, he had mixed it at A2 level in the past so it was no surprise to see him add an A4 to his stats, a 2 1/4L win in 28.94 says he's not done just yet either!
Like Touch Black, Pakkashilly scored on his third start for his new kennel on Friday, a 1/4L win in S3 recording 29.83.
Finally, on the same card Smokestack Levi held on for a 1/4L in S2 company in 38.69, loyal supporters were rewarded with a 7/1 payday.

Magnifique!

We certainly did 'keep it going' this weekend with a magnificent five winner haul!
First up on Friday was Coolagown Pretty in an S2, having previously found it a grade too far, the daughter of David Bale made the race her own with a strong charge from the 4th bend to win by 2L in 38.60.
Next came Head Iton Vikki, without a win since January, she got up near the line in A5 to win going away by 1 1/4L in 29.15.
The treble was secured on the day in great style by Gunga Din, evidently dangerous in A5 company she ran away from them at the end to record a 4 3/4L romp in 29.15.

On Saturday we bagged a brace, Ten Lengths almost lived up to his name, the blue son of Zero Ten improved on his debut with a 7L demolition of his P7 in 29.13.
The final winner of the weekend was from another offspring of Zero Ten, this time Dunbolg Juno. It was her second Monmore win as she got up in the last stride to win by a Shd in 29.23, the price was a staggering 14/1!!.

Back on it

We've picked up the winners trail again!
Found It was the first leg of our double on Saturday night.
The fawn daughter of Sidelight put them to the sword in A6 and won comfortably by 3L in 29.18.
The second leg of our double came in the shape of Pascals Law in the A2 later on the card. Showing plenty of early zip he stretched away for a 3 1/4L romp in 28.50.

Two more

A little lesson in social media thanks to Richard Taylor. Aways check to see if your post is live!
"On Wednesday's Puppy Derby Card we had two nice wins by way of Blackstone Solar and Rich Spirit.
Solar was first up and despite finding trouble at the third corner, he had enough left to win the A2 by 1/4L  in 29.03.
We didn't have to wait too long to bring up the double. Rich Spirit was foot perfect from start to finish when winning by 1 1/4L in 28.91 in his A3"

Its Raining

It seems the snow is behind us now, only torrential rain to cope with now!
Thankfully we are back among the winners, Tuesday saw a double by way of Proud Mel and Cuckoo Martina. Mel has been running really well in the last few works and was rewarded for those efforts with a good win in A3 when leading all the way by 1 1/4L in 28.76.
Martina, already a winner in A7 not so long ago greatly appreciated the drop back to this class when finishing well to score by 1 3/4L in 29.36.
Wednesday saw the first round of the Monmore Puppy Derby, we managed another double on the 'undercard' when Blue Majestic made it three wins from his last four starts when getting up on the line to win S1 in 38.29.
We also took the final race on the card, an A2 with Hidden Louise who led at the first corner to run away for a near 5L victory in 28.73.

Making a Splash

I omitted Blue Majestic's Friday win at Monmore. On a track rated 100 slow the son of Aero Majestic gladly took another S2 this time by over 4L in an Improved 38.10.
On Monday's BAGS card the kennel notched a double. Splashy Puddle (apt!), without a win in five runs since coming from Kinsley put the record straight in no uncertain fashion when romping away to win A5 by 6 3/4L in 28.84.
Notorious Rhys who went so long without winning until last week, duly followed up with another Gold when leading all the way in A3 to clock 28.84.

Thursday, 22 February 2018

And theres more...

The winners keep flowing from West View, three in fact yesterday, kicking of with Whisky Jaydee, a winner last time in S3 the versatile daughter of Vans Escalade led all the way in A5 to win by 3 1/2L in 29.02.
Notorious Rhys, remarkably without a win since July 17' led from trap to line to capture the A4 by 3L in 28.97.
The treble was quickly bought up by Faletau, this son of Pots and Pans has had a rough time of it in races recently but he bombed out and won the A6 with ease, eventually crossing the line nearly 4L to the good in 29.20

Tuesday, 20 February 2018

Three....its a magic number

Another three winners this afternoon starting off with Slaneyside Goldi, dropped to A5 she recorded the 4th win of her career and a personal best time to when winning by 1 3/4L in 28.87.
Proud Mike took five races to find his feet but he made it two wins in two and another P.B when collecting the A3 by 4 1/4L in 28.70.
Finally, Found It completed the treble with an all the way success in A7, stopping the clock in 29.27.

Santa brings another present

On Saturday, Santas Ace beat kennel mate Head Iton Murph when recording an S1 double in 38.31, a three timer is on the cards now!

4.more

Fabulous Friday pretty much summed up the day. Another four winners on the BAGS card.
Staff Rebel, without a win since November but never running a bad race, finally got his head in front in the S2 clocking 38.61 in a rough contest.
Gavins Jet won the S3 on the card, the son of Crash is really an S2 warrior so it was a matter of time before he bagged this lower class race, eventually winning by 2L in 38.80.
The quite amazing Hershel Gibbs won for the fourth time on the trot. Remaining in A2 class he was foot perfect from start to finish and recorded an improved effort to win by 2 3/4L in 28.49.
Our fourth win on the card came in the shape of Moanteen Archie, it was an A2 class race and the black son of the mighty Ballymac Eske put the race to bed off the 4th bend winning by 1 1/2L in 28.68.

Valentines day quartet

Up to today, Estrella was the only star for the kennels this week. The daughter of Farloe Blitz won the fifth race of her career, an A7 in 29.32 on Tuesday.
It was all rosy on Valentines Day however as we recorded a brilliant four timer on this afternoon's BAGS card.
Slaneyside Angel had been finding it tough going in A5 but she made the break through today when finally avoiding early trouble to win by 2 1/2L in 29.61.
Chez Vic, without a win since October made no mistake in leg two of our quadruple. He stayed on powerfully to win A2 by 3L in 29.14.
Whiskey Jaydee won S2 on New Years day so it was not the biggest shock when he won his S3 today, a trap to line win in 39.92 (going to follow).
The final leg of our 'Quad' came by way of Westmead Clyde, upped in grade to A4 was not enough to prevent bookies and punters fancying him and they proved spot on. The 7/4F proved too gutsy in slow conditions and held on for a 1/4L win in 29.76

Redhot!

It's not often the grader can stand up and take a bow but no-one would begrudge it on Friday. Our own Murlens Redhot won the S2 on the card in 38.97 but you would have sweated on the result as the distances covering all six runners was HD, SHD, NK, NK, SHD.
As for Redhot, she's firmly on the three timer trail after now winning her last two.

The Week that was

Quite a selection of winners to catch up from the week. Pennys Gatsby was our Monday winner. He had previously reached A2 class but was now back down to A4 and it was just the ticket as despite his SP Gatsby won well in 28.71.
No luck on Tuesday but Wednesday we scored a double on the card. Murlens Redhot's last win was back in October so we were overdue a big run from her and we got it, eventually scoring by 6L in 28.82. La Hacha is in terrific form still and made it win number five from his last nine starts, this time an A4 in 28.94.
On Thursday Head Iton Sharpy got the verdict in a three way bob of heads. He had November and December off and after a couple of good blow outs Sharpy proved spot on for this A5 win in 29.78.
Three winners came our way on Friday in the shape of Lahana Ace, Hershel Gibbs and Gunga Din.
Ace recorded his third career win in A6 when scoring by 3/4L in 29.35. Hershel Gibbs had been raised from A6, then A5 and now into A4 without winning but someone forgot to tell him as he led at the first corner to win by 1 3/4L in 28.97 at the very rewarding odds of 7/1.
Gunga Din made it four from nine with another strong running performance to win A5 in 29.15.

Stats Time

West View Kennels are currently top of the winners chart at Monmore Green with 28 wins for 2018.

Round Up!

Coolagown Lolly needed only one sighter to adjust to the double upgrade from A7 to A5, she led late on to win by 1 3/4L in 29.23 on Friday.
On Saturday we booted home a treble beginning with Smokestack Levi. The black son of Vans Escalade is always a force in S2 and it was no surprise to see him win comfortably by 1 1/2L in 38.68.
Next up on the card was Afan Jack, without a win since September he got up near the line to win his A4 by 3/4L in 29.23.
The treble was completed by La Estrella, she had been finding things a little tougher in A7 but the ease in grade was all the daughter of Farloe Blitz needed to get her head in front again to win by 3L in 29.31.
Dainty Hunter had a terrific start to her career at monmore back in November when winning A5 and A4, She had some hard tasks in A3 since A4 since and seems to find any trouble going but it didn't stop her on Saturday as a near 6L victory showed despite plenty of crowding once again, 29.33 the winning time.
Our final winner of the week came by way of Funny Eyes, he's a standing dish in A7 class and he added another win to his record here eventually getting the verdict in a nod of heads to record 29.59.

Heading it in!

A double Headiton victory to report on so far this week.
On Monday Vikki, who's recent form figures read an astonishing 2-2-2-3-2-1-2-2-1 won again in S3 when getting up near the line to win by 1/4L in 39.09.
Her sister Teeny lacks Vikki's consistency but has now won four of her last nine races including todays S4 by 1/4L from kennel mate Pegs Berry in 40.39 (going to be confirmed).

Prayers answered!

Rarely do we go more than a meeting nowadays without recording a win for the kennel. Saturday night kept this trend going as Holy Wayne answered our prayers. Two last place finishes were quickly forgotten when the black son of Roxholme Bully broke smart and kept out wide to cross the line 4L to the good in 28.85....what a fantastic start to the first half of January.

Quads!

The kennel hit overdrive on Friday when we had no less than four winners on the afternoon card.
Faletau has been adjusting to his three grade uplift but made no mistake on the third attempt in A6, the brother of Thursdays winner Shovel It On made the first bend his own and won by 1/4L in 29.23.
Gavins Jet is normally thereabouts in all his S2 races and he recorded another victory by 3/4L in 38.97, -120 going was not ideal but he displayed great desire after early traffic problems.
Blackstone Solar, a debut winner in A2 has found life difficult in his eight races since but the blue son of Blackstone Gene put it all together to blitz his A3 by 6 1/4L in 28.58.
The final leg of our quadruple arrived courtesy of Slaneyside Angel. From humble beginnings in A10, she continues to surprise us as this win in A6 shows, keep on going Angel!!

Smokestack and the Shovel

Great to see Smokestack Vicki get back on the winners trail on Thursday. The March 16' daughter of Ballymac Eske held on for an A7 head win in 29.46.
In the very next race, Shovel It On made it three wins from only five starts when leading from the third corner to score by 4L in A9 recording 29.37.

Wednesday, 10 January 2018

13 in Jan

Thirteen winners in January already, helped by a treble today. Miss Jodee, previously higher grade than these before her layoff in September, made no mistake in A5 when winning easily by 4 3/4L in 29.25.
La Haha led all the way to win A5 by 3L in 29.28.
Finally Gunga Din appreciated the ease to A6 and just got up to win by 1/4L in 29.14

Monday, 8 January 2018

Lolly Licks 'em

Coolagown Lolly showed there were no lasting effects from a recent fall when turning out again in A7 and putting 4L between her and her rivals at the line....super tough Lolly!

More in the Tank....

Proud Mel got back on track on Saturday at Monmore. An Open race winner back in November, the 2014 daughter of Ja Mann prevailed by a head after a ding dong tussle to record 28.84.
On the same card newish recruit Dunbolg Juno waltzed away with the A6 by 5L, this despite coming second in two A7's. 28.97 was her time and needless to say there is more in the tank.

A nice brace to kick in the New Year on Monday.
Cornish Kate who is rarely out of the first three made it career win No2 in A6 class, she clocked 29.01 for a smart 4 1/2L success.
Whisky Jaydee seems to have turned a corner in recent weeks, the son of Sidelight notched a double despite the upgrade to S2 and won by 3/4L in 38.79
