Friday roundup from Towcester

Another good night at Towcester last night.
Express Foster continues to be the bargain nobody wants with another stunning victory coming from behind good dogs to win in 28.42...He is stunning looking, brilliant temperament and only £1500 to stay in the kennel!!!!
Chevy Blazer run her heart once again only to be nailed on the line in the S1..compensation surely awaits
Tiernans Choice, also for sale ran a gutsy race to finish second after early crowding and looks like he could stay a bit further.
Windgap Coke missed the break (4.32 sectional!) but didn't get beaten far into third considering
Nice to see owner Mike Gould make his first trip to Towcester to see his Curragh Jessie run, sadly it wasn't a winning run but she gets some TLC from Mike all the same.

A look back at 2014

Because we set our standards so high, 2014 was not our best year at West View Kennels.
But looking back it wasn't all bad and we still won some big races on the open race scene and we had a great year at Monmore Green with the graded dogs.
We left Monmore leading the race for champion trainer there, but left before the year ended, fair play to Paul Sallis who took the title again.

Cape Impact was the star us in 2014 winning 11 opens all over the country and was 3rd in the Sunderland Festival sprint, which we won the year before with
the awesome Drumcove lad.

The stand out performance in 2014 was Exocet in the final of the Sussex Cup at Hove, he led all the way and held off the strong challenge of Paul Young's Bubbly Gold, winning by just over a length in 29.55.Roly Woodcock's dog was a joy to train and probably the best dog I have ever put a lead on.
With his blistering early pace, stamina and his will to win, Exocet had it all.

Paul Scott's Cluxtons Free came back from a serious injury and had to have surgery, but the Monmore Puppy Derby hero of 2013 bounced back in 2014 and won many races, including two on Sky Sports showing his blistering early pace, winning in some great times, 16.01 at Sheffield and 16.09 at Hove.

On Derby Final night at Wimbledon the three we sent out ran fantastic, with Daddy Knowsbest winning the Veterans race and Old Refrain won a race I have always wanted to win, when she struck gold in the Dorando Marathon, Cluxtons Free ran a brave second to Skate On in the sprint.

Old Refrain was one of the marathon stars of 2014, winning many races on sky sports and finished 3rd in the TV Trophy at Sheffield, she won 5 from 14 starts and sadly went lame in her last race at Romford when favourite to land the 750 final live on sky.

Express Lodge a cheap dog off the website give his new owners a great night when landing heat and final at Monmore Green in the 416 festival final in 24.49,live on Sky Sports.

Chevy Blazer owned by David Torjusson had a great 2014 and went un beaten going into the summer classic final at Monmore, but sadly she missed the break in the final, which was won by Airport Captain.

Kieth Warner had a mixed year in 2014, with Express Master winning the first round of the Derby, he then went flat on us, later in the year he hit top form again and helped Monmore Green to reach the Bags inter track final.
Master produced some sparkling performances at Perry Barr and Hall Green. He then went on to win at Nottingham on finals day, this took his tally of wins to 3 from 3 and 100% in the competition. The big day came to dramatic end when Monmore just missed out by one point in.

Royal Update

Egrc update

King is back galloping now after his long rest recovering after a wrist injury.

Queen will be having a sprint trial this week at Towcester, result here immediately afterwards

No luck tonight

Unfortunately the kennel never got on the card with a winner last night, third place finishes from Corley Snow and Inaghs Dalcash indicate the kennel is still in good form and a new week starts.
Yan bumped into owner Pete 'Partex' Symmonds at Towcester and captured this almost smiling pic ;-)

More for sale at Westview Kennels

More dogs for sale from Westview.

Tiernans Choice was a winner for us last week at Towcester, he proved too good for the opposition with a commanding victory in 28.86 and looks all set for a good year having previously been A1 at Monmore.....£1000

Inch Taller, settling in well now at Towcester, a game and consistent performer who should provide loads of fun for her new owner only £1500

Queen Mary and Queen Teresa 1/4 shares available still, £1000 gets you a share in both bitches, this looks terrific value as Teresa got off the mark at Towcester last night showing real grit and determination to come through to win the eight dog race.

Express Foster, only 7 runs but 2 wins already including 28.99 at Clonmel. Graded in A4 at Towcester and from a great line which has consistently produced quality winners. Once again sure to give his new owner plenty of fun at Towcester and only just turned 2 years old....bargain at £1500

Going Going.......

What a response, my phone has been bombarded with calls all night since putting the dogs up for sale.

Kippers usain was bought within minutes by loyal owner Roly Woodcock and Dublinhill Magic has also been sold to a syndicate from Coventry.

A sale on the pup Pinkandytownpunk is nearly wrapped up also with two big players in the sport very keen on taking him on.

Quality for sale

We promised we will try and reach the heights again in 2015, but without buying good greyhounds, no greyhound trainer in the country can compete at the highest level. With very little dogs bought in 2014, because of major changes at West View Kennels, including a building of a state of the art boarding kennel, changes in staff and with us knowing for a good while we were  leaving Monmore and moving to Towcester, we can look forward to 2015 with a completely different mind set and hopefully get back into the the top 6 and try to win the trainers championship again.
I will be selling top class greyhounds regularly again now on my website, so if you a interested please call to avoid dis-appointment.

Lot 1 - DUBLINHILL MAGIC

March 12 / Black Dog
Sire Hondo Black / Dam Dublinhill Pride

Magic is a proven open class dog in Ireland and comes from a great litter, his full brother Emers Superstar reached the Irish Derby final in 2014.
This blistering early pace black dog has only run 22 races winning 7, and runner up 7 times and has won from any trap draw.
He has produced some brilliant runs at Thurles including a recent calculated 28.62, with his ultra consistancey and will to win, Magic will be ideal for the major group competitions in the UK and will give his new owners great entertainment at realistic value for money.

Please call myself if interested for more details.

Lot 2 - KIPPERS USAIN

November 11 / White Black Dog
Sire Moveit Jamie / Dam Kippers Doll

Where do i start about this brute of a dog!!!!!

Usain has competed against the very best in the UK and Ireland, winning the first two rounds of the English and Irish Derby.
With only 30 races run this fellow has plenty left in the tank and could be the next Exocet at West View Kennels.
We will aim Usain at all the major group and Sky races this year, with his first target being the Scotish Derby.
This stunning white and black dog has some serious clocks on his card including a recent 28.16 run at Tralee.
Usain was bought for well over 20 grand as a pup, but our connections in Ireland have purchased this superstar for far less.
Please call myself if interested for more details.

Kippers Usain

Lot 3-PINKANDYTOWNPUNK

Our contacts in the emerald Isle are quite extensive and we are constantly being offered emerging talent from Ireland.
Some are being offered to us at prices which we feel are just too dear and others are simply not quite good enough for us especially since we have joined Towcester and the competitive racing there.

One young pup however we feel ticks the right boxes is only an April 2013 whelp and only last week he produced a sheer brilliant display in his latest race.
It made headlines in Ireland's greyhound weekly paper the 'Sporting Press' who quoted it as the 'Run of the week' when pinkandytownpunk clocked a sensational 28.68 - This pup was an unbackable 1-4

This pup is by one of the games top stud dogs Droopys Scolari x Forest Maid.
In Pinkandytownpunk's latest race he left his rivals chasing shadows and the further he went the further he was in front - Nothing got within striking distance of him and his winning time was easily the fastest time of the night.
Most pups with this winning time and age will cost well into the five figure sum bracket but we have secured him for what we feel represents a value for money four figure sum.
He will be joining us next week at Westview Kennels and any owners are welcome to come and visit us and see this terrific prospect.

He will be aimed at all the major category one puppy events in the GBGB racing calendar -

please phone me direct on 07885 632329

Quality coming up

We will shortly place  3 adds on the blog.
A 28.62 race winner at Thurles.
A 28.16 race winner at Tralee
And a 28.63 race winner at
Drumbo Park (pup)

As always these will be sold on a first come first
Serve basis.
