Richard Taylor
Richard 'Flandy' Taylor |
I would just like to make a special mention of Richard Taylor.
Since buying Flandy Megry a couple of years back, his love of the sport has grown and greyhound racing is now a massive part of his life.
Richard has now got six dogs in training at West View and is one of the biggest owners in the kennel,
I would like to personally thank Richard once again for his loyal support of the kennel and we all wish him every success with his dogs.

Good luck with the new purchase and thank you for supporting the kennel

Everyone loves a winner
Shanghai Candy is becoming a reliable yardstick in S2 class after her 3 1/2L win in 38.41 on Friday at Monmore.
Dublinhill Magic continues to climb the grades with a nice win in A5 class this time on Saturday, on the same card Proud Pegs Tina put to bed an S1 in 38.42 and Proud Pegs Hunter made it 4 wins from only 6 career starts with a debut Monmore success in A6 company clocking 28.70.

Patience is a virtue
Noirs Allen, knocked out of the Henlow Derby made no mistake in A1 class in a fast 28.36 win.
Last night it wins for Move Over Tadhg, it's only taken 18 runs to notch his first first victory so we have been patient!.
Talking about patience, Head Iton Olive won on debut back in April but it took another 17 races to make it No2 last night with victory in S2....all very much appreciated nonetheless.

Afternoon Double
Round Up
Flandy Megry gets up to force a dead heat last Friday to make it two wins from her last three races in A4 class.
Live Escalade also takes an A4 race to record his first victory in the UK and should win plenty more now.
Dublinhill Magic who looked highly promising at the beginning of the year until injury forced him on the sidelines for over 6 months got back on the winning trail again with an A6 win and can continue his progress again.
Lacken Smokey having only his 2nd race rewarded favourite backers with a good win in A5 class last night at the Green and on the same card Puckane Lad did the business winning his A3 at the fourth attempt.
Over at Henlow its Derby time, we are represented by Noirs Allen who did us proud in the first round by qualifying in 3rd from a very tough heat, as the saying goes you've got to be in it to win it!

Saturday saw an A2 win double when Donal Said No made a sparkling debut at Monmore with 28.56 win and then Shunters Power on his 3rd race in the UK appreciated the ease in grade from A1 to also win nicely.
Sunday we went to war at Henlow with the win machine and he did not let us down, Cape Impact made it 19 for the year with an excellent win in the sprint Open

In his first race, he would of won easy but was fought off the track at the 3rd bend,Shunters then in his 2nd race showed his real class by winning by 11L in 28.73, 2.84 split at Clonmel.
This fellow has done 16.10 In a sprint at Clonmel also and qualified in a flying 16.68 at Waterford.
The price that some dogs are fetching today are fortunes, but i really think this dog has it all and is a fair price.

Tina debut
Ran very well, finishing 2nd, recording 28.89 at Towcester.
After a slow start she ran on very strong, and looks a nice stayer in the making.
This Nov puppy, should suit the 630 at Monmore and in time, will make
S1/ minor open class.

Back to the Green
The dream move to Towcester hasn't been a great one for me personally as i have lost too many owners and have not attracted any new ones.
I would like to thank Towcester for the effort they have put in there and i hope the track can go from strength to strength.
The move back to Monmore Green gives me an opportunity to attract some owners back into the kennel and at this point I would like to thank Richard Brankley and Tony Williamson for giving me the chance to return to the track I call home. After having 10 fantastic years training at Monmore I hope going forward I will have further successful years at the track.

Weekend Round Up
Friday at Towcester saw Holdem Apache record his 5th win with a 40.38 victory in S2, Proud Eds Hunter is flourishing after a second win in only 3 starts, she starts and stays which is the perfect combination and will win plenty more.
Also on Friday at Perry Barr, Express Foster advertised his claims as a possible stayer in the making when taking up the running at the 4th bend to win the 480m Open in stylish fashion and at rewarding odds of 8/1.
Saturday at Towcester and Coolavanny Crisp showed everyone what he's made of with a super stylish win, it was his first victory after eight starts in A4, winning an Open at Nottingham with him is one thing but A4 at Towcester seems to be another...onwards and upwards.

On a big downer tonight
Which made us late by 5 minutes
For Lacken Jacksie to race at Romford, has turned out now a even bigger disaster, after a nightmare
5 hour journey, we were minutes
Late in kenneling the dog, as a Gbgb rule, you have to kennel 45 minutes prior to the race.
If we have been a few minutes earlier
Last week at Romford, i would have no doubt, that he would of been running there in the final tonight
And not at Perry Barr, where sadly
He broke his leg when clear of the field.
I rated Lacken Jacksie as good as the past champion sprinters we have had
And its a real shame for connections
That his career has been cut short.
Greyhound racing at times can be heartbreaking.

Noirs Allen showed no ill effects from his early exit in the Derby with an authoritive display in Div1 of the 480m Standard when landing the odds of 4/5.
European Queen is really blossoming and destroyed her rivals for pace clocking a 4.60 sectional and a fast 28.29 time for a 7 1/2L success.

Towcester Weekend Review
Friday saw Dubai Lassie record 3 wins in a row with a game effort in A3 class.
Saturday we saw Chateauneufdebob get back in the winners enclosure with a solid S1 victory.
Sunday we had 3 good winners, El Diego was first up when slamming his rivals by 6L in 28.88 with a few oi oil's reverberating around the stands, then came Proud Charm for the Brinklow Boys (2 wins from only 4 races) and finally the strong running Tiernans Choice led early and put the race to bed in 28.91 (12 win or placed efforts in 16 races at Towcester!!).
Well done team.

Usain Bolts To Arc Victory
Kippers Usain is crowned the 2015 Calne Racing Arc champion after a dazzling display of early-pace that his rivals just could not match to the delight of his owner Roly Woodcock and trainer Chris Allsopp.
He gave a display of his devastating early-pace in the first-round recording a mind boggling 2.32 split. He was 1L slower in the final stopping the sectional clock at 2.40 but that was good enough to see him turn in front. Evanta Evita gave chase but even a bitch of her quality never looked like reeling in this former top Irish tracker. Kippers Usain crossed the line 1.5L in front of Evanta Evita with a fast finishing Bubbly Gold a further 0.75L back to take third in 28.60 +10.
This was some performance by Kippers Usain but also by his trainer Chris Allsopp. The dog and the trainer will rightly grab the plaudits but it's worth mentioning his owner Roly Woodcock. There are not too many people who will stump up the cash to by an older greyhound with plenty of miles on the clock. This is not the first time he's done it and got huge success Ballycowen Dave (Kent Derby), Exocet (Kent Derby, Sussex Cup and Night Of Stars) and now Kippers Usain (Arc). All three greyhounds had plenty of experience and perhaps the doubters would be thinking their best days had been and gone. Roly Woodcock is such a positive man his love for the sport shines through in abundance and he's got his own recipe for success that is paying big dividends. I don't know about you but I'd not mind knowing who he's thinking of buying next.
Roly Woodcock Owner Of Kippers Usain
'Swindon is my local track and this was our Derby. He gave us all hope when put in a great performance in the first-round producing that blistering sectional of 2.32. To come out tonight and lead this top quality field up and win the Arc is amazing. I keep getting stick for saying I'm 'over the moon' so let's not say that but it really is such an amazing feeling. I might buy the dogs but all the credit must go to Chris Allsopp he did it with Ballycowen Dave, Exocet and now he's done it with Kippers Usain. The man is a genius what more can I say he just produces miracles and he gets the very best out of the dogs. We now head to the Derby and have a go, why not he owes us nothing and in this kind of form you never know what might happen. I'd like to thank everyone at Swindon and in particular Calne Racing for the amazing sponsorship but most of all I'd like to thank my wonderful trainer Chris Allsopp'.
