Busy Bees

We have a busy few days ahead with racing happening at different ends of the country. Tomorrow we head to Hove with Droopys Edgar, Ballymac Rumble, Indigo King (Sussex Cup Trial Stakes) and Pony Sheila in the Ladies race. On Friday it will be closer to home at Perry Barr with Micks Ginger, Bawna Elsa, Gertys Pony and Bosscroker. On Saturday it's the long trip to Sunderland. In the William Hill Classic we have Pall Mall winner Ballymac Ace whilst Ten Dollars More and Fatboyz Diva will represent the kennel in the Grand Prix. Good Luck to all connections.

Notts Winner

Droopys Glen made it two wins from three starts when taking the Worthingtons 480 Puppy Trophy at Nottingham last night. Despite finding trouble around the first corner Glen dug deep to take the contest in 29.15. Officer Donagh's winning run ended at Wimbledon when his old foe Jimmy Lollie recorded the win with Officer back in third.

Everdean scores

Miss Everdean (pictured) recorded her second career win this afternoon when taking the days A6 in 29.19. Quickly away from traps, she stayed well to record a 1 1/4 length win.

New shots for site

I'm please to inform all our regular readers Dave Yanez has agreed to supply us with a selction of images for the website and blog. Dave has a great eye for a photo and it would be great to have him on board. If there is ever a photo you are interested in please contact me through the website and I will ensure I'll put you in touch with the relvant photographer to order that shot. As with any shots on the site please do not use them for other purposes.

Swindon Double

Officer Donagh (pictured) made it four wins on the bounce with a smooth 3 3/4 length win in 16.21 at Swindon. After a slow start to the year the Officer is red hot and willing for any challenge. Droopys Edgar brought the double up when taking the 509'er in 29.74. Edgar always had his share of knockers however five wins in 2010 proves he is still very much on the upgrade.

Monday Plans

Ballymac Ace heads to Sunderland tomorrow for a trial ahead of their Classic competition. There will be over 100 dogs going through their paces so will be hoping for an early trial. Closer to home Killough Quinn and Droopys Glen take their chance at Nottingham in the evening.

Earl on the mark

Selecta Earl proved to be our only winner on a sultry warm evening on Saturday. Earl who had a period off the track, made it 2 wins from 3 starts since his return when taking Ladbrokes.com 480 with a 29.07 victory, staying on well to get the nod by a short head.

Friday 25 June 2010

Pegging it

The well bred Daughter of Peg (pictured) landed her first win this afternoon when taking the A7 by 2 1/2 lengths in 28.90. This will be the first of many wins, mark my words. Ballymac Siobhan made it a double for the kennel when taking the A4 in 29.15, her 6th career win.

Challenge Mounting

Ballymac Ace's Pall Mall win on Tuesday has pushed us up to third place in the Trainers Championship. After losing the races at Coventry I envisaged a tough year but after a slow start he are certainly hitting full speed. Thank you to all my loyal owners.

Thursday 24 June 2010

Away and gone

Ballymac Away (pictured) proved to be our only winner on Thursday evening when taking the nights A5 in 29.22. After starting her career slowly she has now won three of her last six races. Her early dash will always win her a good share of races and will continue to rise up through the grades.

Ballymac Ace Bouncing

I'm pleased to report Ballymac Ace is bouncing around the kennels after his wonderful effort when taking the Stan James Pall Mall at Oxford. He will now head to Sunderland on Monday for trial ahead of their Classic competition.

Tuesday 22 June 2010

Ballymac Ace take Pall Mall Title

Ballymac Ace landed tonight's Stan James £8,000 Pall Mall Final at Oxford with a stunning 4 1/2 length win live on Sky TV. Quickly away from an unsuitable trap five he burst across the field to lead all the way in a 26.38 win. Ace has now won his last six races. We will hopefully get some shots from track in due course for the website. Our hearts go out to Carly Phillpotts injured Anagram. Officer Donagh made it a Sky double when landing the sprint contest in 14.81 beating his old pal Jimmy Lollie.

Serious Dude for Sale

I could well have unearthed another Ten Dollars More over the weekend. Derrynaflan Dude looks like a dog ready made for competitions in the UK. The black 79 lb pup is a July 2008 and has won 5 of his 9 races to date. He has wins at Thurles, Kilkenney and Shelbourne Park. His last win was over 550 metres at Shelbourne when he took a very tough A1 in 30.29. This lad seems to have genuine early pace and stays the trip well. If you are looking for a major competition dog then this dog is great value at £6,000. I'm expecting to sell this lad very quickly so it will be first come first served.

He's the man

Murrman proved to be our only winner of the afternoon at Monmore today. Despite being slowly into stride he had no problem picking up the leaders to record a 1 1/2 win in 29.48.

More Dollars.....

Ten Dollars More pictured at Monmore on Friday. Many thanks to the track who forwarded this photograph.

Saturday Summary

Gertys Pony made the most of the drop down to S1 when running out a 1 1/4 length winner in 38.04. Our second winner at Monmore came care of Moyar Panda who took the A4 in 28.99. Down at Swindon Officer Donagh recorded is 32nd career win when taking their Sprint Open in 16.14. Indigo King ran a very promising second in a supporting open, I feel he is approaching the top of his form again.

Friday 18 June 2010

Summer Classic Title for Dollars

Ten Dollars More (pictured) took this afternoons £7,500 Ladbrokes Summer Classic when blasting from traps to take the prestigious prize at own track in 38.01. The son of Hondo Black has only had 13 races in his career to date in the UK and a serious future beckons if he can stay injury free. Congratulations to owner Mick Giles who purchased the dog for just £5,000 off our own sale page. Hollywood Idol finished a brave 4th in the 480 dogs Final.

Thursday Four Pack

Broad World, pictured, ended her luckless run when taking last nights A2 in 28.93, staying on strongly. Old boy Gums N Plums added another victory to his portfolio when taking the A6 in 29.12 by 7 1/2 lengths. Ballymac Sarah made it back to back wins when showing some nice early pace in the A3, winning time 28.86. Finally it was great for the new connections of Treacle Express to record there first win in the second A3 in 28.95.

Leona sure has the X Factor

It was great to read superstar Leona Lewis had visited Solihull Greyhound Trust and Daybreak kennels. This is the sort of positive PR the sport needs. For record Leona is welcome a kennels any time as long as she does a walking shift like every one else. Well done Leona !

Ace heading for Pall Mall Final

Ballymac Ace kept himself at the front of the market after an impressive 1 1/4 length win in 26.55 at Oxford this evening in the Semi Final of the Pall Mall. We will be hoping for a good draw later in the evening. The draw will appear on the blog when available.

Weekend ahead

Plenty of action to look forward to over the next four days. Tomorrow at Monmore sees Hollywood Idol represent us in the Ladrokes Summer Dogs 480 Final whilst Ten Dollars More runs from trap 6 in the Ladbrokes Stayers Summer Classic over 630 metres. We head to Perry Barr on the evening with Selecta Earl, Lively Mondays and Droopys Edgar. On Saturday we will be heading south to Swindon with Officer Donagh and Indigo King. Grim day the office

A serious and sad day for the kennel today. We have sustained four bad injuries of which three are broken hocks - Kurious Incident, Rackethall Hero and Mashed Potatoes. My heart goes out to the connections of these wonderful dogs. Of all our runners in the afternoon only Ten Dollars more qualified for Finals day with a hard fought second place behind Extremly Ard in 38.19.

Sunday 13 June 2010

Peg out to impress

The Paul Scott trained Son of Peg (pictured) set the tongues wagging at Monmore last night with an impressive debut. Running in A6 company he stayed on very strongly to take the contest in 29.41.

Oh dear.................

Two deals were agreed yesterday at the kennels. Treacle Express was sold to Gary Thompson and Ballymac Away to Alun Johnson. Thank you both for your custom. Both elected to take discounts than the World Cup offer after England's poor show against the USA.

Bo Selecta !

Selecta Earl defied a six month lay off to romp to a 29.99 success at Swindon last night. This dog has some real ability and I'm hoping we can keep him sounds on the months ahead. Officer Donagh made it two wins from 3 starts when taking the sprint open in 16.14.

Saturday 12 June 2010

Going to the Dogs

I'd urge all our readers to call in at Lighthouse, Wolverhampton and visit the brilliant photography exhibition by Katherine Green. The exhibition documents the last months of Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium. It runs until the 25th June.

If anyone purchases one of the dogs for sale off the sale page you will not have to pay any training fees until England get knocked out. In addition if England win the World Cup you will 25% back off the purchase price ! Come on England !

Also on the card there is a puppy competition which will feature our Andrees Diamond, Ballymac Sive and Droopys Glen. Droopys Edgar will also take in chance in a supporting open. Good Luck to all connections.

Flight Time

Jamers Flight (pictured) proved he was king of the A1's when running out a convincing 5 1/2 length winner on Thurday night in a rapid 28.37. I've been instructed to sell this lad for just £1,200, I'd imagine he could sell very quickly. Bizarrely another dog I'm adding to the sale page Ballymac Away took the A6 in 28.86, a quick quick time for a young bitch. She will be just £800. The Friday afternoon card provided us with two winners care of Bawna Gayle, A5 29.13, and Moscow Duke, S3 38.63.

Return of the King

Indigo King and Selecta Earl both return to the track tomorrow after recovering from injuries. Both have come through their trials and will hopefully give a good account of themselves at Swindon on Saturday night. Officer Donagh will be joining them for the journey in search of another win.

Puppy Prospect

I am pleased to offer a beautiful prospect for sale. Braulio (Droopys Maldini x Perles Dame) won his novice race in 29.34 at Limerick despite little schooling powering clear on third bend. This lad have huge future ahead on him and could stay further than 480 in time. This lad is availble for just £2,800. Given what we have paid for pups with similar experience I personally think he look outstanding value. Please call me if interested.

Master wins again

Ballymac Master put his early pace to good use when making it back to back wins in A7 in 29.80. Centaur Bliss put in a nice staying performance in S3 when taking the contest in 39.35. Performance of the day came from Galtee Petal who landed the A6 in 29.27 by an amazing 6 1/2 lengths.
